I'd like to see the $$$ figure. That is an insanely nice 951....

Hugh R 02-29-2012 03:57 PM

I have a friend who has a 944 with all lexan windows, kevlar hood and deck lid, an LS-6 engine, he just put bigger valves and springs in the heads and had the pistons cut to accept the bigger valves. He told me he's getting 400+ HP at the rear wheels. I think he put some 6 piston Brembo brakes on it. I need to find more out about it. I know he kicks some serious butt at Willow Springs. I'll take some pics the next time I see him.

redstrosekNic 02-29-2012 04:12 PM

Thats a sweet looking car!

szyzygy 02-29-2012 04:44 PM

Nice!

UconnTim97 02-29-2012 04:53 PM

That certainly is well set-up. Beautiful car.

Unless it has Batmobile wings and a faux jet engine exhaust, I wouldn't be braggin' too much... ;)

Wow. That's just plain sweet. I love it. Do you have a video online of it's engine sound? I'd really like to hear it!

Front window defroster?

kaisen 02-29-2012 07:02 PM

Gorgeous car, great build.

I think he has more money in Motec gear than I have in my whole car

Flieger 02-29-2012 09:31 PM

This one always impresses me in red group (POC).

Way to go, Paul. Spreading the hate whenever and wherever possible, huh?

Simply a fantastic build. I bet the total dollar figure would be scary.

Glad to know he doesn't troll OT exclusively.

Jim Richards 03-01-2012 03:59 AM

Haha! He only has three hobbies, talking about pool, talking about Mustangs, and trolling here. I hope I have more going for me when I retire. :D

That 944 that Flieger posted a link to is damn impressive. That red one is pretty nice, too.

willtel 03-01-2012 06:03 AM

I think Paul is just a little jealous because he doesn't have the mechanical ability to wind his own watch.

He used to complain about how far he had to drive to the Porsche dealer to have his classic 911 serviced. Shameful.

Correction: I drove to Rothsport. Big difference. I'd do the routine stuff...fluid changes, etc. But when it came to redoing the suspension? You betcherass I wrote the check to the former crew chief of Job racing. I figured he might just know a bit more about it than the "experts" here. As far as Hate? On the Bullitt board, I said the same thing about a $$$$$ drag race set up car that turns 10.3...the owner laughed, understanding the humor intended.

So guys, when it comes to "hate"? Some of ya better look in the mirror.

scottmandue 03-01-2012 09:18 AM

There was a super nice 300HP black 951 up for a raffle a few years back... would love to have got my hands on that ride.

notfarnow 03-01-2012 09:21 AM

I think Paul is probably a decent guy in person, but in my mind there is something not quite right about trolling someone's thread where they are proudly posting pictures of a car they are building.

Seriously, somethings a bit off

Whatever it is, I think we are seeing a fracture in PPOT, much like we had before the PARF split. Maybe it's time....

pwd72s 03-01-2012 09:30 AM

Hash it out as you will, folks...I'm gonna answer some emails, then head on up to the Cue Ball for a bit of pool playing.

That's a mean looking car. What kind of headlights, Nissan? They look great.

Paul,
It appears that you are dissing guys like John Walker, Grady Clay, Early S Man (who was still alive and active when you still owned your 911), and others of the same calibre too numerous to mention in this short post.

That is bad form, Paul, bad form.

BlueSkyJaunte 03-01-2012 12:22 PM

That's a seriously nice 944. I'm a big fan of the 924 GTS headlight setup. Makes the car look much less RX-7-ish. :D

Only issue with the car that I can see is that he installed the steering column on the wrong side?

Wow, were you guys in the same class as the 911s? How did the lap times compare to them when the car was healthy?

Makes sense from a racing standpoint, gets quite a bit of weight out of high and forward....

That is bad form, Paul, bad form.

Paul lives in Oregon, where Rothsport is located. If Paul lived in Seattle, he would most likely bring his car to John Walker.

I like Paul's posts. A little good-natured needling is fine by me....

When the car was healthy, it was very fast. Here are some results, pretty sure there was a class win as well.

Quote:

Broadfoot 944 Turbo at Rolex24 at Daytona 1999. Finished 13th in GT3 class.

Two Broadfoot GTR Race Cars at Homestead Miami Grand Am race. Finished 2nd and 3rd in GTO class.

Broadfoot 944 GTR Turbo at Lime Rock 2000. Finished 3rd in GTO class.
Of course the 944 this thread about is very sweet!!

Damn, it's only March, and the best post of the year has been posted. What will we do for the rest of the year?

dewolf 03-02-2012 01:48 AM

The Mustang is more of Shetland Pony in the company of this particualr 944. Who cares what it cost. It's unique. Bespoke items usually are expensive.

svandamme 03-02-2012 01:54 AM

That 944 from that link is awesome.

I like Paul too, and enjoy the majority of his posts. I do find his porsche bashing *on a porsche forum* a bit neurotic though
