Awesome workout today

Worked out for 2-3 hours. Benched 205lbs 60 times, 185lbs (incline) 30 times, curling 40lbs 40 times, 35lbs 40 times, 600 situps, some triceps and shoulder work.

Then came home and ran a 10k on the mountain this is my neighborhood. Sweet view of Catalina and San Clemente islands on one side, Saddleback mountain on the other side. Had my shirt off and got some sun for the 45-50min it took me to run that 10K.

Thinking of doing the 10K on Catalina in March. Wish they had a 1/2 marathon, but they don't. I just don't have the time to train for a full marathon.

Came back, watched some old Simpsons with my kids, now drinking vodka and working on work stuff.

Not a bad day, just wish I had my 1977 911s in my driveway again, in full working order. Sucks.

Don't think he works Sundays, he said Monday afternoon. Thanks for asking, man.

Yeah, situps aren't fun. Fortunately my coworker buddy has a gym in his garage so we workout, cut up and have a good time. Takes the edge off.

Very cool....helps to have a bud to workout with sometimes...especially one with a gym!

Not unusual for a shop to take longer to diagnose a problem....try to be patient....there's not much you can really do to some degree.

My first Porsche was an '81 SC. The lower exhaust studs pulled out after the first year so I pulled the engine myself and disassembled as much as I could then drove it over to a reputable mechanic to have it rebuilt with new studs, etc. The promised finish date passed by for several weeks until I pinned him down to finish it come what may and I drove over at 1AM to pick it up - I was frustrated so it all turned out OK but I had to press him at the end. It sucked.

Do they charge for diagnostic time or only the time they actually perform the work?

Every shop is a little different. Sometimes it just depends on the problem. Some troubleshooting takes a lot of time to do properly. They have to charge for their time but if it is a pesky problem and they resolve it it will be worth the cost.

I dunno, I feel like I could do an equal job hunting through this forum. We'll see.

Do you like men with spindly legs? I'm not seeing any mention of deadlifts or squats...

I am a GREAT fan of man-legs. Probably from years of cycling - trust me, the view from the back of the back is pretty nice!

I thought there was a pic in my garage.

Benched 225 lbs last night! Ran another 10k on sunday. I probably can't afford to travel to any races this year. Stupid taxes.

new workout competition on my other forum: run 1 mile, do 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, run another mile. post your time, honor system.

Here's my bench routine, all free weight with just a spot for unracking/racking:

Flat Bench:
warmup: 135lbs, 10 times
Round 1: 205lbs 10 times
Round 2: 225lbs, 10 times
Round 3: 225lbs, 10 times

Incline:
3 rounds of 10 reps @ 185lbs

Decline:
3 rounds of 10 reps @ 205lbs.

We do this Tues, Thurs, and Sat along with 2-3 other rounds of non-chest exercises. About 600-800 ab reps, bicep curls, shoulder raises, pullups.
