True but there was a time that the average life expectancy was 35 years. I agree that too many people are germaphobic, but the nasty stuff that grows in human waste is no joke. Cholera, etc...

No, I'm the one who lulls you into a false sense of security, by running the water at the sink, not washing my hands, with my back blocking your view through the gap between door and frame (while you're perched on the crapper), and then use the towel dispenser to complete the illusion. Even though I pissed all over my hands, I use the door handle to exit. Have a nice day!:D

rap.

I have witnessed this and left an establishment because of this. And posted to Yelp. Worse is washing your hands and there being no soap in the only dispenser. If there is no soap for me, there is no soap for the cook who just dropped a deuce. Hepatitis much?

Old story, but I used to sell to a very large video products distributor based in manhattan. They were almost exclusively staffed by hacidic orthodox Jews. Every year at NAB (the big annual trade show in Vegas), they would all come out and bring their own chefs with them because finding a truly kosher kitchen was difficult. I always thought it odd, but with what I have witnessed with sanitation, sometimes I wish to be kosher.

The thing is, you have faith in your own cleanliness, and that's great, and all good, but as many have said you can't have faith in the hygiene of your fellow human...and that's the crux of the problem. Unfortunately, as a species, we can become ill from the junk someone else carries. Do you want hepatitis, flu, common cold, or any of the gastric diseases? Of course not. You have to protect yourself, and this is what washing your hands is about; because no one cares as much about you as yourself. Wash often. Personally, after washing my hands at restaurants, I avoid touching door handles, menus...pretty much anything my contaminated fellow human being may have touched. I'm not a germa-phobe, but I believe in self preservation.
