I asked how much it would cost to get my cheap LED flashlight repaired. Here is the response:

Fixed a cabinet hinge for someone last month.
The thing was made of chrome-painted pot metal. Apparently no longer in production either. They wanted $15 S&H, with four weeks turnaround.

I welded the thing. Yes, you can weld pot metal.
