Dell All-in-One printer acting REALLY funky
Guys and gals computer gurus - hoping you can help.
Dell AIO 926 just started acting funky: 1) Gives warning message that Reserve Tank for black ink cartridge is empty. Replaced cartridge with brand new one - warning doesn't go away and printer window shows empty black ink cartridge 1a) Cartridges don't center when the lid is lifted to replace them like they used to. I had to manually pull the cartridges to the center to replace the black one. 2) Scanner doesn't work - just sits there at 0% scanned 3) Won't copy 4) It will print, but I get the Reserve Tank empty error message. I have: Replaced black ink cartridge with new. Uninstalled printer and reinstalled. Nothing helps. Running Windows Vista Home on a Dell desktop. Thoughts? Any and all help and suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks Steve

I threw my Dells out the window.....would suggest calling Dell and/or MS. If out of warranty Dell will charge you or tell you pound sand.
MS, was the most helpfull when I had a crash with HP printer. Worse comes to worse...toss it and buy another printer.

Assuming you downloaded the current drivers for the printer when you re-installed it, as Joe Bob says... toss it and buy a new one if it still doesn't work.
Printers are cheap (literally and figuratively) these days.

I do not buy or recommend "all in one" devices because of the many things that can and do go wrong with them. Unfortunately, there's not much that can be "repaired" on a printer...

+1 on reloading the drivers.
I have a wireless version of this POS that has to be reset every time it gets used. ARGHHH. Never again.
