Big promotion at work!
Got a nice promotion at work today.....included a $20,000.0 per year pay raise!!Plus bonuses and a company truck with expense account!
Most everybody is happy for me here at work....the two other guys who were in the running left early today, to upset to finish the day....WTF? Neither one said congrats, and both started trash talking.....real mature.

Congrats to you. Sucks for them. If you all knew that you were up for it, it's easy to see why NOT getting it would suck a bunch. It's a shame that they couldn't keep their mouths shut. At least they knew it was better to leave than stick around in a foul mood.
It's easy to understand why they'd be disappointed (which often translates to angry). Unless you were all making a million a year, that was a HUGE promotion/raise/increase in compensation.

 I received a 15% raise on Monday. I was shocked. Guess the high rig count is helping me out.

I got a 0.93% raise and a ****ty bonus. Better than nothing, but a big disappointment from what they told us we were gonna get just a couple of months ago.

I work for douche bags. There's nowhere to get promoted to. If they offered me my sales manager's job, I would have to turn it down. That would put me closer to the douche bags.

Thanks guys!
This new position takes me out from an "inside sales" job back out on the road calling directly on our customer base!
Twenty grand represents a 22% raise for me!!! But getting back out into a more challenging position with lots of growth potential and freedom is really what excites me! I am lucky to be located in western Canada and working for a large John Deere construction equipment distributor. We seem to be immune from the economic struggles that surround so many right now. In response to someone asking if a new P-car is in the future....No, but my current one sure is in line for some much needed pampering!! As always, great support here and even better advice on how to handle the situation with my upset co-workers.
