I got this from a family member.. it is unopened i am guessing it is tequila? If i drink it (in moderation) will I end up worshiping the porcelain god?

Well, Habenero probably means hot, like a chile. Tanampa is a city and Anejo means aged.
Try it! What's the worst that could happen! It could be Rum, Rum comes with that wicker wrapping. |
oops wrong forum. please move to off topic or feel free to delete.

Tenampa. A raw, rum-based liquor, originally from Tenampa in the east of the state of Vera Cruz

Good job! Also 'habanero' in this case is reference to Havana-as in Cuba. So to add a rum 'Aged Havana Tenampa'-Mexico Distrito Federal- Apartado 112- address. Pour some in a shot glass, observe color and smell. If its cloudy and or has any rotten egg or vinegar-cheesy type smell be careful. Liquor can turn or get stale. Not to mention, found some references on the internet implying this hasn't been made for a very long time. I wish I could try it myself, I'm pretty adventurous.

Well it's a cool label/bottle even if the rum is no good!
Mexico, D.F. is "distrito federal", which is basically just "Mexico City." Apartado is a postal address. |

Let us know how it tastes!!!

You've got a picture of a naked girl on your wall, I'm sure your "trip" will be a good one...
This not tequila, otherwise it would say so and it would not say "Mexico D.F". True tequila can legally only be from the Tequila region in Jalisco. Kind of like champagne, if you make the stuff anywhere outside of Champagne France, then it can not be called chamapagne. Aged Rum or Aged Rum Liquor is my guess as well. Drink it straight or on the rocks. Try a small sip to see if you like it. |
I don't believe that rum ages in the bottle, so if it was good rum when it was bottled, it should still be good rum, unless the integrity of the seal was broken at some point and some nasties got in. I think liquor ages in the cask, but once it's bottled, it's as good (or bad) as it's ever going to get. At least this is my understanding of it...
