With all of the fat-fingered (cap-sense) touch devices out, I expect that it's only a matter of time before most WWW sites adapt or fade away.

of course there are people like me, still using resistive touch input w/ a stylus. (both on phone and tablet). - having precision input is very useful on tiny screens.

Good lord, are you still harping on that? At least the dinosaurs had the good grace to die out without being snarky about all of those goofy-looking creatures with fur...

But yeah, but only because it is still so stupid to have low-precision input device for a high-resolution compact device. -stupid.

Of course most people are so enamored with the light-touch scroll and zoom that they completely ignore precision functionality needs. (like selecting a small field on a website. ..text selection)

....web redesign will make the issue less stupid, but clearly we are not there.

I have a problem replying to PM's on my iPhone. iPad is fine but it's almost like the "reply" button is just missing??

Yes, can't reply to PMs on the iPhone, not sure what that deal is....

And Island, why would I want to have to get out a stylus every time I want to use my phone? Its just simpler for the end user....

Another option is to use the Tapatalk app, as I'm doing right now. :D :thumbup:

I don't (every time). usu. I use a fingernail, unless I'm writing quite a bit. Then, out comes the stylus for some hand writing on the screen. (cursive - remember that?)

Speech input is good, as long as the environment is quiet, and others aren't around to hear you dictate.

also, fwiw on text input; I don't use the Windows native "Touch Input Panel" with my tablets. Instead I use RitePen software. It's cheap ~$20 and Soooo useful (fast) on the tablets.
