ipad app or other process that would act like a intercom
 

I have an office that I completed about 9 months ago that really has no reception area, and our offices are somewhat remote from the entry way. I would like to employ an ipad that would ring the voip phone system or computers. Any app that I have found labeled a intercom is really just another social networking tool, not really an intercom as I need it.

Any one have any ideas?

iPad seems like a pretty expensive solution.

You can get a real wireless intercom with video for 1/3rd the price.

The Voxer app might work but I don't know much about it.

HeyTell is similiar to what you're looking for.

How about Skype? I am using it as a baby monitor between my galaxy tab and my home computers so perhaps you cold use it as an intercom.
