I bought a $300.00 4x4 chevy truck today

Man, do I like to take home the strays. A customer dragged it in two weeks ago, needs a trans, lost 3rd, and overdrive, and has a leaking rear brake line. I checked it over, and that is all it really needs for inspection with the exception of a few holes patched. He was ready to upgrade to a new truck anyhow.
It had 4 nearly new load e tires ( that are already on my truck) and I stole the rubber bed mat for my truck and gave the big tool box to my partner for his f 350, and I still have a truck that is worth $400.00 in scrap.
I will probably pull the trans, and overhaul it, I believe it is a 4l60 e. I can probably rebuild it for less than $500.00, and then sell of the truck for a few grand.
Runs good, needs a super good fluff, and buff.

What he is not telling you is that those are RUST holes....the question I have is, are there little piles of OXIDATION under the truck after it has been parked for awhile?

Looks decent from here. Some body rot above 3/4 of the wheel wells and 1 rocker. I would guess the floors don't look amazing from wet boots getting in and out. Still room for good profit there.

Nice pick up!

I think the 2001 (or 2002?) Chev beside is the best looking version of the Chev truck post '73. They only made them just like that for a couple yrs and then fooled with it. The only silly thing is the bigger hood is just hollow space. I think they did it to look big like the competition.

I don't know about how many a "few" grand is to you, but a 4x4 on the East Coast has got to be worth $3K. My old 2x truck like that won't bring 2K, that I know.
