Removing swirl marks.
 

I always wash my car myself.
Prior to parking the BLACK car for the winter, I took her to the 'bubbles car wash' and got the full treatment for it.
After the wash I noticed very light swirl marks in the paint.

How does one get rid of it all?

There are books' worth of material on this subject. I'd wash it again at home, dry it with a chamois and then, out of the sun and when totally dry, use the various Zaino Bros. treatments. They are miracles in bottles, but take some elbow grease. And you have to use the highest quality cotton towels you can buy. You will be amazed by the results.

DIY or sublet? For either option, I suggest you or detail shop use Meguiar or 3M products, polishing machine w/foam bonnet and practice panels.

Don't fall for paying for the application of "glazing" compounds. They will temporarily hide swirl scratches by filling the scratches. However, at the next car wash, they will appear again.

Several books on the subject to understand the correct as well as quick and dirty procedures.

I agree. I have been using Meguiars (and on occasion, Zaino) for years and used correctly, they can make an amazing difference. I just bought the Meguiars DA Microfiber Correction Kit and if you know someone with a DA, I would suggest trying it. VERY easy to use, no dust, and wipes off as easy as anything I've tried. Made my red paint look awesome!

Personally, I still use 3M hand glaze in straight motions, never circles to remove light scratches and swirl marks.

One tip I learned long ago was to NEVER wash/wax/polish the vehicle with circular motions(unless using a machine designed for it).

My cars, daily drivers included) are not perfect but the paint has a deep gloss with no swirl marks.
