AutoNation is selling new cars at 50% off on EBay
If you've got the time you can sit and hit the refresh button repeatedly until a new car shows up and buy it for half price.

I just took a look this morning and happened to luck up and see a car for sale at 10:45 EST. I hit the BIN button - but was too late. It sold at 7:45 PST, so I caught it within the first minute - but wasn't the winner

AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually was hitting refresh repeatedly when it popped up. What I didn't realize was that it's the DEPOSIT that means you get the car! I hit buy it now without even looking at what I was buying, but one of my client's Paypal IDs was preloaded into the login field. Of course, when I entered MY Paypal password it kicked it out. It took me a couple of tries before I figured out what was happening! By the time I loaded MY Paypal ID and password it was gone. Yesterday's sale times were 8:17, 11:16, 1:45, and 3:30. Wonder if they'll follow that same pattern today.

i almost just bought the Ford Edge that went a little while ago.
I am waiting for a fiesta. BTW....you can download a plug-in for IE that allows you to refresh the webpage automatically. you can set the time that it does it, down to every 10 seconds. i have my laptop over here, with the the ebay "items for sale" refreshing every 10 seconds. no manual button-pushing required.

I wasn't home for the Edge. A friend of mine was sitting home hitting refresh over and over. He saw it pop up, immediately hit buy it now, and immediately hit whatever comes up to pay the $500 deposit. He said there was a brief pause before he got a message saying, "Sorry, this item is no longer available." I don't think a 10 second refresh is going to be fast enough to help you win this game.

LOL, I don't see how you guys think you can win one of those, when there are 50,000 people pounding on their keyboards at the same time. Pretty much like playing the lottery. But, good luck anyway

50K sounds pretty good compared to the lottery.

I am sure there are about a hundred geeks ahead of the manual people who have a script set up to auto complete the sale as soon as it pops up. That's what I'd do if I was a computer geek.
