Anyone see The Hunger Games yet?
What did you think?
My daughter is a huge fan of The Hunger Games, so we went to the theater straight from school today. I thought it was a great adaptation. To me, the violence is more disturbing on screen than in the pages of the book. That is one seriously dark movie! Hopefully it won't inspire the mentally unstable.

Saw it yesterday morning.
Very well done. It is dark. A good psychological thriller. |

My daughter is an extra in the Reaping scene. She is standing next to Prim when they pull her name as a tribute. The camera goes in for a close up shot and she occupies 1/3 of the screen. Pretty cool seeing your daughter in a major movie.
We went to the midnight opening. Thought it was pretty good.

I didn't think it was excellent but far from bad. More for adults than twilight for sure

Lots of younger kids are reading the book, including my daughter. She won't be seeing the movie.

Saw the midnight show with my daughter and Father/Daughter friends. We all thought it was really good and had a great time going as a group. The other dad had not read the book so he didn't "miss" anything that was left out of the movie. I really would have liked more of Katniss' "inner dialogue" especially during the game.

I've also not read Or seen Lord of the Flies. Anyone have insight on how they compare? Honestly I am uncomfortable with the subject matter in HG's. It's kind of f'd up but it's also got some good strong moral themes. While "the games" themselves glorify the violence the real message that is very clear is the the games are wrong. |

It was a great movie and adaptation of the book. I did not find it too disturbing at all and neither did my 15 year old daughter.

Just returned from watching HG with the family, we have all read the book and enjoyed the movie. We didn't find it overly dark or violent, maybe because we knew the outcome. It led to some great discussions on the drive home....I'd rate the movie an 8.5

I saw Hunger Games last night. The fiancee and her friend had just read the book and altgougb it wasn't exactly the same they were both very pleased. I enjoyed the story and plot. But seriously, the person recording needs to learn how to hold a camera still! And does 90% of the movie have to be in Macro mode? I really disliked the 'style' of recording. I about had motion sickness twice during the film. It was almost like watching Children of Men.
