Internet Radio under $25

Chuck, you might want to consider this very inexpensive route for the shop music... (re-use, re-use, recycle)

Pandora (or Slacker or Shazam) Internet Radio Appliance:

Get the ff:

PRO
Inexpensive
Portable
Small footprint
Great way to re-purpose an old android phone
option to use another music app available in Google Play (formerly Market)

CON
Small display
stereo imaging is limited...

Hope this helps...let me know if you have other questions (i have this setup in the home office and garage...:) )

All very true unfortunately.
However the "general-usage PC" can also handle OB2 scanning and recording wirelessly, or other entertainment functions (such as a Youtube video of rebuilding a muffler bearing) on any flat screen wall of the garage.
Just a consideration.

Its also really nice to have the Porsche parts program and other documentation "at hand" in the garage. A flat screen bolted to the wall and keyboard hanging on the pegboard when not needed takes up little to no space when not being used.

Weird, what model is it? I haven't actually seen one without RCAs other than the Boom.

There should also be an app or two or three for the iPhone if you want a few more options than just the little web remote. It works the same way and saves the username/password.

This is the one:
Logitech® Squeezebox™ Radio (Black) Plays music from the Internet and your computer at Crutchfield.com

But they raised the price to $169 since my order last week, was $149! Do an internet search and you can find a code that gets $20 off.

On the issue of using a computer; We previously had it on a computer and that is what I was trying to get away from. We have a building full of computers, looking up data is not a problem.

What I wanted was a radio-like appliance. Push one button and music comes on. No boot time, no passwords, no maintenance, no fuss.

The squeezebox does this.

Google buy.com and search squeezebox. Cheap! Er....
Personally I have a gen1 Itouch. Use it for traveling out of the country as my internet machine. Emails, maps...
