Robot Vacuum Cleaners

Hi all,

Anybody with any experience/tales to tell?

Mrs Outback is wanting a robot vacuum cleaner, specifically an LG VR5902LVM. The old bagless vacuum cleaner is on it's last legs so we're in the market for a new one. Are the robots worth the money? Do they handle hair okay? Reliability? etc?

Cheers,

I've been through about 8 Roombas, but still undecided.

If you like cleaning them and untangling wads of hair from the sweeper part, sure.

We have a Roomba.

Mediocre, although it does help cut down the sweeping.

I have a Roomba. I use it once or twice a week. Works OK for what it was designed for - quick pickup while I'm away.
It can't replace a real vacuum with all the power and tools.

Undecided after 8 of them? LOL! :D

My wife talks about getting one. I wonder if it'll freak out the dog.

Cathy was not over-joyed with the Roomba, used it a half-dozen times.
She cleans like her mom.

Have a roomba works OK licks up lots of dog hair. My pool robot is amazing how well it works.

Sophie the Weimaraner doesn't like the robot too much....but it does great picking up her short hair. We use the roomba a couple times a week. Works pretty good and our model isn't one of the most expensive robots.

Ours really helps to cut down on the dog hair (we have a Siberian Husky) but we still need to vacuum sometimes. We do use it every day.

My Roomba works great on all hardwood floors. My lab likes it when it pushes her tennis ball around so that she can play fetch.

I found using our Roomba more work than using a regular vacuum. It was constantly getting hung up on rugs on our tile floor and stuck under furniture that wasn't quite high enough. Also, the stair sensor was inconsistent. Add in the pain of cleaning the Roomba, and it was just easier and faster to use the regular vacuum.

+1

I love mechanicals, robotics... but those machines (Roombas) are more hassle than helpful.

Thanks for sharing everyone.

You've all given me a few things to consider. I've two hairy Border Collies thus the concern for hair, but I didn't consider that the thing may get stuck under my furniture. I may see if I can test drive one.

Greatly appreciate the comments/insight.

Cheers,

Anyone have a Neato Robotics ?

I've seen good reviews for these but have never known anyone that has one. Many people on Amazon say that they dumped their Roombas in favor of a Neato.

My robot vacuum cleaner became self aware and transformed itself into an amalgam of Cylon models No. 6 and 8, but I can't talk about it because of fleet security.

I acquired a 7 in 1 robot vacuum cleaner thirty days ago, Until now I'm proud of it. It cost $369 over 3 separate repayments.

I read up concerning this first and thought I might have difficulties with rugs together with other objects. It can be able to 'Learn" by all accounts as two rugs in my lounge occasionally cause it issue but it backs up and tilts its angle followed by its fine again. Occasionally getting caught in one of my curtains as well as an extension cord for my TV and Stereo. Remember to clear items like shoes & magazines off of the floor and therefore i have discovered my Sebel dinning chairs, it does'nt bang into them and change direction like its front 'Bumper" is built to do, though it goes over the tubing legs which is a problem, It possesses a front "Bumper" (which pushes everytime it contacts an object and it also knows to backup and alter direction.) Therefore I lift my Dinning chairs up into the table. I find it occasionally gets stuck in tight spots and i believe a floor sensors detect stuff like dark shadows or Black images through the floor confuses and covering it every now and then.

My Carpets and rugs throughout the last month with an average of 2 times one week useage (you are able to arrange pre programmed days because of it to cleanse) are seeking superb. Undoubtedly it cant enter into every tight nook and cranny so you make ought to realise this and apply a normal ones to have at those spots.

Being bachelor no pets and kids I have no trouble using one.................. Ha ah ha hah.

I was checking out that new Dyson robot but for $1200 it better have a blowjob attachment on it.

The best part of robovacs is watching YouTube videos of cats riding them.
