"One flew over the cookoos nest" on right now on AMC
Started at 8 eastern but showing again at 11 eastern.
Nicholson is great...loved him at this stage in his career. :D |
My favorite movie of all time...what a cast of characters!!
|
Or as Mad Magazine called it, "One Cuckoo Flew Over The Rest."
|
"I bet a nickle."
"Come on Chief, jump up and dunk the ball." |
I love that movie. Rode by that place every day on my bike for a year in college. Logged in here during a commercial.
|
That's my great uncle. Well the story is about my great uncle.
Strange. |

Great movie! Loved Nicholson in this and The Last Detail.

Ok, raise your hands, how many saw this movie when it first came out? I did, and the following big win at the Academy Awards ceremony.
|
On my PVR - I'll be watching it later after Easter vittles
great movie that I haven't seen in years ... looking forward to it |
Awesome movie. The book by Ken Kesey is fantastic too. The chief is the narrator IIRC.

Nurse ratchet (louise Fletcher??) was crying at the oscars and thanked everyone for hating her so much. She was a number uno beotch in the movie, but as it turns out she was just an acress playing a part and doing it well. Whoda thunk? |

Can't watch AMC anymore, WAY to many commercials. If there is something really good on I'll tape.
That is a classic though. |

Mistakenly tuned the movie in live and could not stop watching. Had to suffer through the commercials. It's DVR'd now but I think I'll Netflix instead. I forgot what a great movie it is.
|
Remember when AMC had no commercials..?

Terrific movie. One of the best of all time. For a variety of reasons. Symbolism. Acting. Story line. Lots of reasons. |
The Mental Defective League, in formation

Just noticed it's on again tonight at 8 eastern on AMC.
And yes, I remember when AMC had no commercials. You could tape movies and they came out great! What the hell happened to the "good old days"? |

Thanks got the DVR set. |
Thanks for the heads up. Watching it now thanks to you. One of my favorites. Last Detail, Five Easy Pieces, and One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest - three of his best.
|
Hey you're welcome Mark and Patrick. ;)
I'm a HUGE movie nut......probably obvious by now. Pretty cool to have all the notes with tonight's showing. As an aside - I watched "Star Trek III - The Search for Spock" (1984) the other day for the first time in many years - and had forgot that Christopher Lloyd played the Klingon leader. Also while watching it hit home that DeForest "Bones" Kelley is no longer with us. Great movie.....really. I had the pleasure of meeting Kesey way back in the 1980's. He served me oven fried chicken at a large party at his house. I had not read Sometimes a Great Notion at the time, but it is a masterpiece. Perhaps my favorite book of all time. Cukoos Nest is a good read and moving. But not in the same league. Just my opinion.
