Remington sounds cool. But kids may think he's a rich snot, and make fun of him.

I think he may hate you for it! Not literally, but I know from personal lifetime experience that such a name can haunt. My parents had the brilliant idea to call me 'Theodore' (gag!). Have always shunned that name and gone by 'Ted', but the double name thing gets confusing throughout life (given name vs. common name). I'd stick to something one or two syllables, more simple. Tell him later you considered 'Remington' and he will thank you for reconsidering!:D

If you go ahead with it, I bet he'll invent something like 'Remo' before he reaches teen years, rather than 'Remy'.

Whenever I think of the word Remington I think of Guns, and or electric shavers and typewriters. I think the name is TRENDY. Why not just pick one of his Grandfathers names. I too am a Theodore and don't especially like it, and have gone by Ted since the 4th Grade. Before that it was TABS..... my initials with an S added.

TedSlick, what is wrong with Theodore? Actually it means "Gift of God". Actually that was only part of the reason that I got that name, the other part was I was named after my great-great-grandfather, who was also Theodore Stringer.

Lemme see...how 'bout this peer-tease when I was younger:
Instead of 'Theodore', it was 'The-Odor', preceded by "Do you smell something? Oh, it's just The-odor." LOL...pretty clever, actually. Gotta hand it to the guy who thought of that one. And, of course, I retaliated in kind. :p

Which reminds me, I gotta give my parents a hard time about that again next I see 'em...

i haven't decided yet, i have a couple weeks yet. i do hunt with a remington shotgun.

We have a 2yr old and during the name decision process ( we did not find out the sex until birth ) my wife told me she already had a name if it is a boy. My first thought was " Hey, don't I get more of a say in the male name choice?". But after hearing it and giving it some serious thought I realized that it was a good strong name. We had a name for a girl as well but when my son was born, I went out and told the family that Sam had arrived.:D

Samuel Rush Davis. The middle name is for wife's Grandfather. In a time when names like Chandler or others that may be considered part of the snob set, I think a straightforward strong name is refreshing.
