Slight hiccup in my day...

Walked out my door at 7:30 am today and saw this:

The dreaded line of Crown Vics doubled parked can only mean one thing, *Somebody...got murdered..." (The Clash).

The little white trucks with the camper shells are the CSI teams. I walked over to the news van and the cute asian reporter chick filled me in: 25 y.o. white male stabbed to death in one of the apartments across the street from me. Happened around 2AM. I should have gone Lubemaster and got her mug shot but I wasn't thinking fast enough. All I got was the van:

It happened in this building:

My street is pretty quiet for the most part, this type of thing is rare. I have a funny feeling that I might know who was involved, either as the victim or killer. I actually don't know anyone who lives in the building but there is (was?) a young guy who chatted me up when I was working on my car outside a couple weeks ago. He was from Fresno or some farm town up north, friendly guy but gave the vibe of being a drug user type. He really gave me a bad impression, sort of like someone you might see on COPS if he was drunk. It's a fairly large building and who knows? It could be some lover's spat or crime of passion but I have a bad feeling that it was this guy I'm talking about. I'm imagining 2 or more people up late after the bars close, maybe doing drugs and a fight broke out.

We'll see. :(

If you click on the link, the frame-grab for the video has my Mercedes C 36 in the BG on the street!

The weird thing is that I haven't been back home all day and I've hardly thought about it. There must have been some sirens and commotion but it did not wake me. It was very peaceful when I walked out this AM, no yellow tape, just the Crown Vics and people walking their kids to school down the street. Strange.

YOU REALLY NEED OUR STEVEN SEAGAL...................

Nice looking neighbourhood Speeder. I mean other than people getting murdered

bivenator 04-10-2012 06:18 PM

Thats a pretty hot van.

speeder 04-10-2012 06:38 PM

Thanks Bill. Other than the occasional decapitation, it's pretty peaceful. About ten years ago, some Korean guy got beheaded at the sushi place on the corner. But anyone who goes to a Korean sushi joint is pretty reckless to start with, IMO.

My wife called me one morning with a similar scenario, multiple marked and unmarked cars across the street at our neighbor's house. It increased as the morning went on, culminating in 10-ish cars, mostly unmarked, and people walking around in jackets marked "Federal Agent". They carried out boxes of paperwork and were gone by noon. The story broke a few weeks later on the news, apparently they had been running a food stamp scam through their grocery store and got caught. Ultimately the husband and wife were both convicted and are serving separate sentences because they have young kids.

We live in a nice neighborhood, the husband is a PA and they owned the grocery store, so there's no good reason to also defraud the state. Funny, with their weird hours and activities we always thought they were terrorists......:D

Put some Claymores in your front yard.... That stuff is very spooky when it happens so close to you...

I remember that. Contradiction of terms. Didn't something similar happen on a transit bus as well? For the middle of LA, Korea town seems pretty laid back.

We had a murder here in Santa Clarita about ten years ago, as it happens, it was my gardener's wife who offed him.

ShakinJoe 04-10-2012 10:07 PM

Do not talk to the cops!

mikester 04-10-2012 10:13 PM

Ah Korea town...My sister (the whack job) used to live east of the location in question near Kenmore.

I've been to that bit many times and it isn't exactly nice. My sister always wondered why I never brought my kids to her place...(she would wonder this to me when she would call me because there were sirens and helicopters outside).

Denis, you're a disappointment to your friends here on PPOT. :D

wow i just got off the phone w/stephen seagull(seagal). he told me where he gets his hair done and of all places its right there in koreatown. GO FIGURE!

he also told me aside from his super secret action figure ninja activities here in az. , he is really down on cockfighting since hes an animal lover, and it appears from his intel that koreatown is the vortex of "COCKFIGHTING" in the sw united states.

he will be right over at my urging with an armored personal carrier w/a .50cal, to clean that place up for you, just like he cleaned up all the "cockfighting" here in az.

"we're gonna hit'em pretty hard tonight" he stated to me.

what a guy huh? you will sleep better tonight knowing this.

sammyg2 04-11-2012 05:58 AM

You don't need a permit to defend the inside of your apartment. The solution is to not invite schit bags over for a 12 pack of beer at 2 AM. If they ever showed up uninvited, I have a nasty surprise for them. But that doesn't really happen.

Most murders are lifestyle-related. Not all, but most.

ODDJOB UNO 04-11-2012 07:37 AM

man if stephen seagull(SEAGAL) was there(1800-SEAGULL), you wouldnt have to look over yer shoulder for that guy you talked to(probably the perp-no doubt) looking for witnesses to the crime, looking to have his WAY with you!

you call 1800-SEAGULL and i can gurrantee more TV STATION CAMERAS, a freeking armored personal carrier w/a .50 cal, and MORE CRIME FIGHTING ACTION FIGURE NINJAS crawling around there than you can shake a stick at.

crime will go to ZERO(0), news ratings will SOAR, the place will be smothered with HOT NEWS CHICKS, and there will NEVER BE ANY MORE 'COCKFIGHTING" in a 25 mile square area!

this guy IS GOOD!

hell since hes been with shurf joe here, his TV ratings have skyrocketed so much that our "alternative lifestyle" pinal county shurf paul babeau(shurf bo-bo) has requested his free services, stopping drug mules, and illegal alien smugglers here.

and you my friend will be RUSHING OUT to get a hair-do just like stephen SEAGULL(seagal), and becoming a crime fighting action figure NINJA!

we ran out the other day and got "SEAGULL" hair-do's. the way the hairstylist described the liquid used was part loctite and part krylon clear coat and some other secret liquids to make every hair stay in place even if yer in boeings freeking WIND TUNNEL!

widebody911 04-11-2012 08:07 AM

Chuck Norris would wipe his a55 with Seagull

ODDJOB UNO 04-11-2012 08:19 AM

whew this is a TOUGHY! man chuck norris is one bad dude also. but i think in this situation being in koreatown, and stephen seagulls reputation with orientals and his ability to STOP "COCKFIGHTS" dead in there tracks............i think seagull is our man here.

does chuck norris cook like stephen seagull? i mean seagull was a chef on board a battleship way back when. i'll bet he can whip up a KIM CHEE dish like no body else!

i dont know how well chuck norris in a kawboy(cowboy) hat and boots would be received in koreatown.

and personally after getting my "stephen seagull(seagal) "hair-do PLASTERED ON the other day, chuck norris' hairdo dont hold a candle when crime fighting. his hair gets all mussy and fussy.

i'll bet chuck gets his hair done by ZOHAN! how 80's!

speeder 04-11-2012 09:19 AM

Gene Lebell punked SS when Seagal was young and GL was an old man. Choked him out in about 10 seconds. That has definitely never happened with Chuck Norris.

Seagal is HUGE in person.

ODDJOB UNO 04-11-2012 09:22 AM

crime fighting is ALL ABOUT THE HAIR-DO!

every ninja KNOWS THAT!
