Boxster Kitty Not Doing to Good :-(

Poor guy has a dropped hernia, the Vet thought he would pass in a few weeks, luckily, that was close to 2 years ago, and he perked back up. Because of his age, the Vet said surgery isn't an option cause he doesn't think Box would me it:(
It is hard for him to walk, as his belly drags the floor, so I'm just trying to keep him comfortable, the other Black kitty is his Mamma, she brought him and her entire litter to my door (she didn't like where she was living) back in 1995, as you can see they are very close.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1334285929.jpg

Sorry to hear this.

I'm a cat man, too.

I hope he's having a good life despite all that. With you caring for them, he probably is. These stories make me so sad to hear - I love animals and have gone through so many rough situations with my own cats in recent years it's always hard to hear about. At the end of the day you just have to remember you're making the world a better place for taking them in, caring for them, loving them and playing with them. Without that, it's a pretty hard life out there in the wild for a cat.

I wish him the best. He sounds like a real fighter and a "no quit" personality. Good on him for that!

Mocha Fudge, who this moment is lying on my lap, sends warmth.

It is rough when you see their bodies break down.
Fudge here has two large tumors on his back. In the past we had them removed, but another would grow close by. Now, like Box, he is too old to make it through the surgery, so we make do as best we can. One day we will say "Goodbye".

Best wishes
Les

Byron
I see your cat pic's all the time in the "random pic's" and always wondered why you had so many cats, and how many you actually have. I now realize that the cats adopt you. From your input to this site I always figured you were a stand up kinda guy, this just proves it. Box is lucky to have you as his pet. Good on you eh, and I hope Box is around for awhile.

Byron,

Sorry to hear of Boxster's ailment. You know I have 3 black kiddles as well - all siblings about 6 year's old.

Not sure if this would help but my vet does stem cell treatments for pets.

Stem Cell Treatment for Dogs with Hip Dysplasia or Arthritis Pain | Val-U-Vet

Here's his contact info if you want to give him a call. It's not cheap but then again how better to spend money than on a loved one?

Sorry to hear. Best wishes. I'm both a dog and cat person. Prefer their company to people much of the time.

Best wishes, Byron. 'Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.

Racerbvd 04-13-2012 07:34 AM

Thanks guys, he is going up & down, just trying to keep him comfy, Baz, I'll check into that, but pretty sure it won't help Box.

True, they find me and for the record, the Big White cat and others you have seen out side pix aren't mine, they live next door but like to hang out at my house for some reason.. Here is a Pic of Boxster & his Brothers..

Very sad, Byron, very sad. I understand being adopted by cats and wish you and your cats the best. Hopefully no suffering.

vash 04-13-2012 09:09 AM

sorry for your cat's ills. cant be easy.

Zeke 04-13-2012 02:18 PM

Never heard of this. Why can't you make him a sling out of an Ace bandage?

Racerbvd 04-25-2012 07:08 PM

Well, not what I was looking forward to, but for the best.
After doing better (but not getting better) Boxster left us this evening:(
His spirit has been good, and he has been eating & drinking, even this afternoon, but this evening, he was very weak, and I kept him as comfortable as I could..

I'm so sorry Byron.

You are a good man and Boxer could not have had a better companion than you.

Danimal16 04-25-2012 07:24 PM

Sigh, sorry for his passing.

Hang in there Byron, he chose you for obvious reasons.
