Old bent BBS wheel put to good use
Here is an old 3 piece BBS wheel off a '78 911 Targa. It got bent sometime around 1980. A milk tanker truck ran me off the road at a curve and I ran over a rock. the rims and center piece were all bent. $700 to replace back then! I used it as part of a dining room table for awhile. Then it sat in my garage. Now 30 some years later I came up with a use for it. My wife won't be happy, sorry about that, it's staying.

Why didn't (don't?) you just fix it? BBS still offers rim halves for that

see above... "the rims and center piece were all bent" I fixed a few by replacing the inner or outer rims. And I did not spend $40 for that inner seal ring, I redid it with silicone and they did not leak. |
