Cable Box Installation Question
I called Comcast and the tech didn't have an answer so I'm hoping a fellow Pelican can help out. I have a Motorola DCT3416 HDTV box and I'd like to mount the box behind the tv to unclutter the mantel, but I lose line-of-site with the remote. Is there a device that would allow me to mount a remote IR sensor in the front of the tv??? To give you a better idea of what I'm looking for, here is a remote sensor I found on Amazon but it will not work with my box. If I'm not able to mount the box behind the tv, I'll have relocate the box to another side of the room which means the cables will have to run through the walls......a major PITA.

I had a set of pyramid shaped repeaters that I used to control a receiver that fed two TVs on seperate floors.
They were device independent. Worked well. X-10 POWERMID Remote Control Extender Kit - Model 5900:Amazon:Electronics |
Xantech works on all, Monoprice doesn't work on Dish & some cable boxes but much cheaper make sure you check the reviews
Xantech.com For only $13.65 each when QTY 50+ purchased - IR Wired Repeater | IR Extenders |
Had an ex girlfriend whose brother used to put tinfoil in strategic places and bounce the signal around corners.
Give that a try. |
