Remington 700

remember remington has some POO on them re: a factory snafu on these. and the 700 WAS LISTED along with others from them having AD's.


matter of fact google remington trigger malfunctions. there was even an article on msnbc not long ago.


basically the factory design allows rifle to AD when dropped or falls etc. factory was aware of this problem and never had a RECALL. lots of litigation and ugly lawyers yelling at each other and some deaths.



and also the 870 pumps were listed. and i own BOTH so its kind of been on my list of POO TO DO as in GET CORRECTED by a QUALIFIED SMITHY!



timmney triggers here makes trigger groups. cabelas has them also listed

Yes I know about the AD's. Yes timney's too around 125.00. No I need cheap, like REAL cheap. Like the one you took out of yours to put a basix or timney in.

actually my m40a-1 was built by dick davies(prod. mgr.) at mcmillian firearms here in phx., crap 25 years ago.


so when i heard this rem trigger crap, the questions started whirling around in my lil pea brain "WTF IF THAT INVOLVES MINE!"


so its been on the back burner and the m40a-1 has been residing in the deepest darkest recess of my safe for some time now, waiting for me to get off my fat azz and take it back into mcmillian for a "LOOKY SEE" and possible UPGRADE to SAFER-NESS NIRVANA!


it has been haunting me for some time, and each and everytime i pickup my midwayusa.com catalog i have the trigger page for rem 700's dog earred.



and also the page that has the badger ordinance mag wells where i can pull my mag out and replace with either a 5rd box magazine or a 10rd box magazine for when the elks and deers are over running our FOB(forward operating base). vizualize the sniper w/the 1903, in the bell tower in "saving private ryan."


my 870 last went up to chino valley and got VANG COMPED and has never been an issue until i recently read this rem "bad triggers" article. the thing is i upgraded the entire trigger assy on the 870 with the remington police trigger group(brownells) and i havent heard anything bad about those triggers being bad or faulty.



so for the SAKE OF SAFETY which i am a real prick about................i will put this at the top of my "firearms get off my fat azz TO DO LIST!"



plus i really like the idea of LEGALLY carrying (10) rds. in a box magazine for MARAUDING BLOODTHIRSTY CRAZED ELK and DEERS!
