Need Some Help from Phoenix Pelicans

My daughter is going to leave her car in Phoenix this summer rather then drive back to Maryland. She has an internship in DC for two months and then heads back to Arizona for another internship until school starts.

She will finish and fly home around the 3rd of May.

So, I've looked at places to store her car for a few months and there are a million places...do any of you good folks in Phoenix have a recommendation?

I would prefer covered parking, secure. Location is not that important.

Or, if anyone has a spare hangar space, garage etc. we are willing to pay...plus you could drive her FJ once a week or so:D

Thanks in advance.

Paul, are you SURE you want to expose your daughter to someone from Pelican?:p

I suspect that car will be residing at somebody's house for a few months, all full of gas and clean when she comes to pick it up.

In Mesa has all kinds of storage places offering a $1 first month rent kind of deal. It's also not too far from Sky Harbor Airport so she can do one of those airport shuttle deals.

Drop the car off, have the shuttle pick her up at the storage facility and to the airport.

It is indeed fortunate that the car is an FJ and not a Ferrari as in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Check the mileage when u drop it off and when u pick it up.:)

Unfortunately, I don't have the garage space and wouldn't want a car to be outside around here. Even in my nice neighborhood I've seen cars vandalized.

If you do not find any covered space, I could stash it at the airport in secured parking with a cover on it. It would be in a pass required area, so no worries about people fussing with it.

It would be in the same place where Rick Lee's car was when he did the same thing after you drove it out here...

You mean the same place where you and Eric watched me remove from my trunk and assemble my M4 a few hundred feet from the flight line in full view of everyone and no one batted an eye? Yeah, real secure. I love AZ.

Ok, lets see you get INTO the same area where YOUR car was parked securely for several months without an airport pass. It can be done, but doubt that you would be there for more than about 30 seconds before guards with "rock n roll" weapons will be having a chat with you.

People get into this secure part of the airport ONLY once they have a pass to get into the gate, and getting that pass is not easy. Before anyone asks, this is a small airport with no commercial flights, in the far North of Phoenix. You can do just about anything you want in your hangar or on the parking lot, but getting in the area is heavily restricted.

no extra garage space here, but I do have a RV gate and a concrete slab in the back yard where the FJ could be parked for free, though a cover (or two) would be a good idea.

That said I could possibly be convinced to move the project car onto the slab to make room for the FJ in the garage ;)

Red UFO lives in Phoenix, I think so.

Wow! The force was strong in that one.

Looks like the issue is now taken care of...KNS and I will share a space.

Thanks to all!
