posted this on the other thread - nice when you can write your own outro music. God speed.
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HMXCM5TCrv8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Early in the morning When the church bells toll The choir's gonna sing And the hearse will roll On down to the graveyard Where it's cold and gray And then the sun's gonna shine Through the shadows When I go away Don't want no sorrow For this old orphan boy I don't want no crying Only tears of joy I'm gonna see my mother Gonna see my father And I'll be bound for glory In the morning When I go away I'll be lifted up to the clouds On the wings of angels There's only flesh and bones In the ground Where my troubles will stay See that storm over yonder It's gonna rain all day But then the sun's gonna shine Through the shadows When I go away (I'm going home - Lift me up) When I go away (No more trouble - I'm going home) (Lift me up - When I go away) No more crying (I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away) No more trials (I'm going home) Home to leave my worries in the ground (I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away) No more troubles (I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away) No more crying (I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away) No more trials (I'm going home) Home to leave my worries in the graveyard Home to leave my troubles in the graveyard Home to leave my trials And I'll be bound for glory In the morning When I go away All my kin who love me All my friends who care Look beyond the dark clouds We're gonna meet up there When they lay me in the cold ground Bow your heads and pray (Bow your heads and pray) And I'll be bound for glory In the morning When I go away And then the sun's gonna shine Through the shadows When I go away (I'm going home - Lift me up) When I go away (No more trouble - I'm going home) (Lift me up - When I go away) No more crying (I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away) No more trials (I'm going home) Home to leave my worries in the graveyard (I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away) No more troubles (I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away) No more crying (I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away) No more trials (I'm going home) Home to leave my worries in the graveyard Home to leave my troubles in the graveyard Home to leave my trials And I'll be bound for glory In the morning When I go away And then the sun's gonna shine Through the shadows When I go away Ah, when I go away When I go away (When I go away) When I go away (When I go away) When I go away |

Beautiful, touching words. They speak to my very Christian heart.
I have not listened to his music before, but I will now. RIP to the man who can bring peace with his words to us tortured souls still in this world. D. |
It was always on my Bucket List to go to one of Levon's "Midnight Rambles". America has definitely lost a treasure. RIP Levon, the music you gave us is your legacy.

Ya take what you need and you leave the rest
but they should never have taken the very best |
I think he lived a pretty full life, and its apparent he loved what he did.. down to earth seems appropriate

wow sad to hear. i really liked the band.
|
Very sad. We just lost a huge talent. One of my fave musicians and songwriters.
I'm always impressed by drummers that are singers. Had enough concetrating on your coordination. |
Goodbye Levon R.I.P.
|
WOW! Huge fan..great talent and every thing I knew about him led me to believe he was a kind, generous person.
RIP Levon, rest in peace. |
R.I.P. Levon. You will be missed and never forgotten. Long live your music.

He was once quoted as saying his main reason to play the guitar was to get off of the farm tractor. Growing up poor, his family were cotton farmers. As a kid he said as soon as school ended all it meant to him was hard work from daylight to dark until school started again.
That was his motivation. His first musical influence was a traveling 'minstral' show....... |
He did pretty good for an Arkansas boy. RIP
