Anyone want a nice BMW diesel 335d?
My buddy is selling this 2011 335d w/ 27k miles. It has the "M sport" package and every possible option except active cruise control + a bunch of BMW carbon fiber stuff. Still under warranty and free maintenance from BMW.
It's on eBay with auction format, it will probably bring mid to high-$30s. It had a $58k MSRP. Let me know if anyone has interest before the auction ends, he'll pull it and sell for cash I'm sure. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Oh and it's really quick and gets 40 mpg on the highway.

Interesting. I'd consider a small diesel, but it has iDrive. I won't touch another car with iDrive.

Well, it's the latest version and really not problematic at all. There is no other diesel car that compares to this sold in the U.S.A. Plenty in Europe that do, however.

It breaks traction on full-throttle up-shifts. 0-60 in 5 seconds.

LOL on the MSRP! That's just insane for a 3 series.
Not in the market for an automatic. Sure would be a nice grocery getter / commuter! Thanks for pointing it out! G |

See the new diesel pickups around your neighborhood? Did you know that a loaded Ford F350 Diesel can break $65K? Pay attention and you'll see dozens of them.... BTW, the 335D automatic is FASTER than the manual transmission, and holds its own driven manually in the twisties. I've ridden in the exact car mentioned here, and it's one hell of a canyon carver. Of course, with that much torque on tap, it's almost unneccessary to shift. Just point and shoot.

The average age of cars in the US was approaching 11 years in 2011 . I am wondering if this is connected. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/driveon/post/2012/01/average-age-of-us-cars-up-again-in-2011-may-now-head-down/1#.T4bnp9WB3BI G ![]() Last edited by aigel; 04-12-2012 at 06:41 AM.. |

The 'average' 3 series sold has a MSRP over $45K. But the average 3 series is also leased.

Sounds intriguing. If only I hadn't read about a prior incident with the car when it was new, I might consider it.

If this was your car:
![]() I think it is lame to offer this to your friends on PPOT without mentioning the mishap. No pictures of the fixed side either. Looks like it remains bent too, running off tires unevenly - quoted from the auction: Quote:

You have a point. I actually forgot about the accident when I made the original post but thought of it later. What can I say? The car was hit when it was very new and fixed. It's not salvage, ( the damage was not enough $$ to total the car), and the damage was also not as fatal to the car as I thought when the accident happened. My point in the thread when it happened was that I would not want an almost brand new car that had been damaged like that and fixed and that I thought that the insurance co. should give him a new car. They thought differently.
I changed my mind somewhat when I saw the quality of the repair work, both during and after completion, it was incredible. I have a good eye and believe me when I say that you cannot tell this car has been hit. As for the tire wear, he hit a pothole on the freeway in San Fran(!) and bent two rims. He got them fixed and they put the tires back on in the wrong position, i.e. they put both fronts on one side of car. I switched them today, putting them back in correct position with 2 best tires on front. All tires are very good but 2 have slight wear and 2 look new. The guy who owns it is super-cool and he'd make someone a good cash deal on it. That's the only reason I'm posting it here. Sort of a pre-sale deal. The car WILL sell on eBay. It's a 2011 and it will sell for about 60% of MSRP. |

Oversight on not posting pics of the left (fixed) side. It's absolutely perfect. Imagine the most expensive body shop on the planet, located in Beverly Hills, that works on new Ferraris/Rolls/Porsches/BMWs/etc. That's the quality of the work. It's stunning and undetectable.
And the tire alignment was not even affected by the accident. The car drove perfectly afterwards, believe it or not. |
