The SCOTUS recently upheld that, for the safety of the prison population, that strip-searches (squat & cough) is not unreasonable search. ... even for those arrested on minimal charges (like not paying spousal child support).

So, if prison safety is such a concern, why to wouldn't be the safety of our friendly skies?

maybe the next Orygun guy will drop a duce.

TSA and the police-state is out of EFF'ing control, and people are getting tired of the on-going fear campaign.

Too bad we don't still have the old TSA admin Kip Hawley. He had a bit more balance.

There was some recent story about a youngish woman doing the same.

People are really sick of being treated like criminals with such regularity.

“The crux of the problem, as I learned in my years at the helm, is our wrongheaded approach to risk. In attempting to eliminate all risk from flying, we have made air travel an unending nightmare for U.S. passengers and visitors from overseas, while at the same time creating a security system that is brittle where it needs to be supple.” -Kip Hawley

and in that, terrorist organizations have won-
IMHO the TSA should have been set up to do what they do but have no visible affect on daily travel

"Land of the Free. Home of the Brave"

should that be in green?

Sad, isn't it? ...we've become a nation of wussies. ...throwing out our bottled water and swiss-army toe-nail kits. . shuffling thru the scanners in our socks with holes, due to the lack of toe-nail trimmers.

It's amazing that the TSA can't eek out enough cognitive power to see that taking away water bottles and pocket knives isn't helping. ...that the TSA can't eek out enough cognitive power to think that maybe breast cancer survivors don't want public prosthetic inspectors.

The list of stupidity is long, with the TSA. ... in this "Land of the Free. Home of the Brave" --cough cough...

As a regular flying commuter I must say yes TSA sucks donkey balls...

However... I personally have never been grouped or strip searched... yes I have been singled out for a random pat down and had my carry on swabbed for explosives.

I would gladly pay more for a "no-fault" low security flight where I don't have to go through the indignity and long lines of the mock "security" the TSA supposedly provides.

I would also like to point out that PDX is my regular stop... and they are by far the friendliest TSA folks I have met (nice airport too).

I'm afraid the TSA is like taxes... every one hates it, but it will never go away.

Keep in mind too that the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration are intrusive big-government departments put in place under 100% Republican control of the national government. Obama is part of the problem too but let's not forget who devised this vast expansion of intrusive government bureaucracy and put it into place.

When an Israeli security group looked over our then-new TSA program one of their observations was that, and I paraphrase, "What you have here is not a means of improving security, you have crated a system for annoying people."

Really, read Why Airport Security Is Broken—And How to Fix It - WSJ.com

And keep in mind that 9/11 was over a decade ago. The knee-jerk reaction THEN should not justify PILING ON by bureaucrats today.

That is, the system now should be smarter -NOT more of the idiocy pilling high and deep.

Seriously BE, I cannot believe that you would use this as an opportunity to give Obama a (relative) pass.

His 'change' should have been dismantling the stupidity of TSA. . . not doubling down on the stupidity of regular intrusive searches.
