Gotye....anybody else?

Saw them perform 2 songs on SNL and I liked them. Have not said that too often in the music realm in a while. Good lyrics, quirky, sounds like he has a little Sting in him.

This song got played on the radio when we where in Europe last month. I like it.

It will stick in your head for a while..

His been on the Aussie charts since 2006. His got a lot of stuff released and a fair bit of it on Youtube.

Was just listening to this song a half hour ago. I like most of his music.

Don Plumley 04-20-2012 07:45 PM

Yup - like it - spouse found them first.

dipso 04-20-2012 07:57 PM

I started listening to him after you posted the video in the What are You Listening to thread. I also started listening to the girl in the video. Her name is Kimbra.

vash 04-20-2012 08:47 PM

Our stations are overplaying it. I now hate it.

And its just getting started too.... they'l still be playing it 6 months from now as the "NEW" song from Gotye . SmileWavy

Waiting for him and Adele to come out with a duet that will be played 5 times every hour 24/7. Yes its a fine song, but enough is enough. I liked "Rolling in the Deep" much the same way and now I can't hear it again. He has other good songs, they should play those more.

Haha. The duet can be about how they move like jagger.

Check out his single, "Hearts a Mess."

Started listening to Goyte last fall, when it was posted on a "what are you listening to" post HERE! :)

My son turned me on to them. I really like them, coming from a 56 yo guy.

Not a fan.

Their hit sounded nice, once.

Unlike other great bands, I find myself hating it.

It's a catchy song - surprisingly short considering it is still stuck in my head.

Kimbra's got a great voice - My oldest loves her voice - while he has not expressed it I can tell by the way his head perks up when she starts chiming in. I can relate to him - she sounds great.

Gotye himself - not bad but I don't think his singing is what makes the song a hit. The song itself, the lyrics and subject are just quite good and something anyone who has ever dated can relate too.

Matt Smith 04-22-2012 11:35 PM

Kimbra's a Kiwi. Great voice & look, we love her! Well worth watching imo.

azasadny 04-28-2012 12:41 PM

I tried Gotye but I didn't like it....Reminded me of The Police, but not in a good way...

azasadny 04-28-2012 12:43 PM

Why do all of the new female singers sound like Amy Winehouse to me?

BlueSkyJaunte 04-28-2012 02:44 PM

Am I the only one who was afraid to click on this thread for fear of it leading to goatse.cx?

lm6y 04-28-2012 06:26 PM

Did anyone else find themselves singing XTC's Senses Working Overtime over the intro?

Speaking of Adele...

I prefer this version to the Gotye version, though that one is good. It's a very catchy song.

Agreed, great voice. I'm going to have to take a listen to a few of her songs.

She's yummy too which doesn't hurt.

Because Amy Winehouse made a certain sound popular, so all of the folks that have that sound are now breaking out. I like it.

porsche4life 10-27-2012 09:45 PM

I like this one way more than the one that was such a hit....

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/mEpfyBOdKxU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

89911 10-28-2012 02:49 AM

That is one of the songs I liked. But if you are a Beck fan, which I am, this has a very uncanny similarity to many of his songs, down to the vocals. Could be why I like it.

aigel 03-31-2014 07:22 PM

The German's took a crack at it. :)
