someone pulled in front of me......BAM.... 924s

need a rough idea what it's going to cost to repair this if i was to have a shop do it.

what'll need replaced.....
front bumper (aluminum)
both bumper shocks
front right turn signal housing/lense
front header panel
bumper pads

and paintwork, this is the area i'm not familiar with......
i'd imagine they'll want to paint the front bumper/fr fender/valance and nothing else, the hood was going to paint next week but was undamaged.....other than that the paint was in great shape except for some flaking on the roof.....

gotta deal with insurance companies now.....which i hate......

i was driving strait and this kid coming in the opposite direction turned left right in front of me......bam......

no one was hurt.....just need an idea on what this is going to cost....it's not major surgery, but i don't want to settle for too little to fix it right....

no idea but with a classic like that (not being snide) don't go cheap.

I did a similar bit of repair to my 924S last fall.... It was roughly about a full weekend of work for me (just the body/paintwork). My bumper shock actually pulled back out and was re-usable.

I have full coverage on the 924s......other driver has insurance, he got a ticket and told the cop it was his fault.....

I know what I can probably fix it for, but want the paint to match lol

We hunt up the parts , you work with a painter, Gary Stratton is down there, and get it fixed better than new.

Well... to buy new Porsche parts, the car may well be totalled. A used fender may end up needing almost the same mount of body work. I am not real sure how this will end up for you as I do not think these cars are worth all that much. Keep us posted. Good luck.

Doesnt look too beat up tim. I bet it can be pushed with a minimal amount of bondo needed. I'm like bell, and would be more worried about getting the paint to match. A small bump like this is how my can ended up getting a full respray.....

Oh, it is an easy fix with a bit of bondo, but if he wants new Porsche parts, it will be expensive. If it were me, I would pocket the insurance check and buy one used front light and fix all of the rest.

porsche4life 04-23-2012 05:09 PM

Where did he mention getting new parts? I'd say a bumper, shocks, light, and pad are that he will need. All of those things can be sourced used for not much.....

And looking at the paint on that marker light, this won't be the first body work on this little beauty....

I think my question is being misunderstood.......
how much would it cost joe blow to pay a shop to fix this lol
