What good thing happened to you today?

Life isn't always pleasant, but somewhere in your day something good happened. It's time to celebrate those little things. Did the vending machine drop two Snickers instead of one? Did someone tell you how nice you looked today? Share it here and give yourself a high-five.

I went to work and no one got hurt. One of my shows, Desperate Housewives is wrapping after 8 seasons, we've had very minor injuries for 8 years. I bought a very low priced bank short sale on a condo on Saturday, sucks for the seller but excellent for me.

Embraer 04-23-2012 07:39 PM

today is my friday. tomorrow is my one day off a week. that is my good news for today.

Scott R 04-23-2012 07:59 PM

It was 85 deg here and the new AC in my 911 made my ears cold!

billybek 04-23-2012 07:59 PM

I went to my doc today.
He said he doesn't want to see me until I am 50. (good news)
Bad news is that I am 49.
Good news is that I am can still play hockey! Summer hockey starts tomorrow.
Good news... The last group of apprentices before summer started today. 8 weeks more and 8 weeks off....
The balance is on the good side today!

gassy 04-23-2012 08:06 PM

porsche4life 04-23-2012 08:07 PM

Goood Boy.

The $65 parking violation was waived because I've been a faithful customer for months (private parking lot) :D

vonsmog 04-23-2012 08:30 PM

I played ice hockey tonight and didn't get hurt! Plus I had one assist and a goal. We lost 2 to 4 (they scored on a empty net) and we only had eight skaters on our side. So as the oldest guy on our team I can still hold my own, so that makes me happy!

recycled sixtie 04-23-2012 08:37 PM

Another day with my wife. Give your wife a hug. They deserve it.:):):)

LWJ 04-23-2012 08:43 PM

I played Monopoly with my two youngest. We had a blast. And I got to drink single malt while doing so!

Physical therapist wrenched my neck into a much better position.

I worked hard and got a lot accomplished.

It was a gorgeous 81 degree sunny day in Portland. That doesn't happen too often in April!

Although today was just a day, it is great to write down what is great about it.

Thanks!
Larry

MIG welded Al for the first time. Got a little ways to go on that.

Tobra 04-23-2012 08:46 PM

We have a lincoln spool gun... That is a tricky process. Our welder has figured out that its all in the prep. He says to make sure the AL is absolutely clean. We keep a stainless steel brush on a grinder that gets used for nothing but Al...

Putting my '10 Winnebago ERA Sprinter up for sale.
Check eng. light on - code said EGR issue.
I have a 5 yr. ext'd warranty & thought Mercedes would be a good place to go.
.
No charge for the EGR - emission warranty for 70k miles.
I thought I'd have them change oil while at it. I did want Mercedes to do its 3rd oil change (special Mobil 1 elixir) to show a buyer that I take care of the rig.
This was my first visit to a MB dealership and I'm in Glory.
The Spec. Mobil 1 oil is pricey so I ordered an oil kit with filter, seal, etc. online...showed it to the serv. manager.
They changed oil but charged me for a filter/seal...refunded the filter/seal cost - their confusion.
They said, "Keep your oil filter...parts are on the house."
They replaced a dead running bulb & only charged for the bulb.
They washed the 23 footer in fine fashion using filtered rinse water (no Phoenix hard water spots).
Windows and interior are spotless & dustless.
They placed a nice windshield sun screen and an aluminum water bottle inside for me.
I emailed the service manager an "Atta Boy!"
The rig is ready to sell.
My dog loves me.
A good day. :)

My daughters best friends father is very sick. He has been in the ER 3 times in 2 weeks. Awful undiagnosed auto-immune disorder that is attacking his liver. Its bad.

6:45am the phone rings, its the kids mother. Dad needs to go to the ER, she is too scared to leave him alone. I pop up, go get the kid. I make my daughter and her friend breakfast, take them to school.

Kids dad is admitted at hospital, she is staying with us tonight.

Today, god (Buddha, The Force, Allah....pick your power) gave me the opportunity to help. That was the best part of my day.

slodave 04-23-2012 11:50 PM

No one has figured out that the OP is a spambot? :D

Embraer 04-23-2012 11:53 PM

I just woke up from an erotic dream. Was sort of a bummer to find it was just a dream, but also a relief.

Watched a movie with Jennifer Aniston last night before falling asleep. Had some nice dreams.

Unfortunately, she wasn't in any of them.

Jim Richards 04-24-2012 07:27 AM

My back stopped hurting and I also woke up. Both very good things.

docrodg 04-24-2012 08:19 AM

Just got off a 24 hour shift and did not have any patients. Always a good thing.

madmmac 04-24-2012 09:21 AM

I did not get chosen for jury duty. Enjoyed the day in downtown Houston. Downside, to pass the time, I played "who would you do" and there was only two borderline winners in the entire 300 person group of potential jurors.

Head416 04-24-2012 11:32 AM

I woke up. In a house. Next to the woman I love. Got to work without getting into an accident or stopped by the highway patrol. I have a job. The checks don't bounce. I have food for lunch.

Spambot or not, I need these reminders. My first thought was "still waiting for that good thing" but I need to see how many good things I have.

carreraken 04-24-2012 11:33 AM

Welcomed a new grandbaby last night.

This morning, we were excused from jury duty since the parties came to an agreement...

Erakad 04-24-2012 02:25 PM

My day is done, on leave tomorrow and hopping a plane to the states.

See you in 2 weeks!

The $8 is being repaid...so Social Experiment II is coming to an end early....so we don't have to listen to 25 pages of ranting and raving and whining and crying...

targa911S 04-24-2012 03:23 PM

Slept in (8:30), woke up, still alive, didn't smoke. I'm good.

scottmandue 04-24-2012 03:25 PM

Didn't even have to use my AK....

It was a good day....

944Larry 04-24-2012 06:45 PM

Got my wife's patio table sandblasted and painted today. Will save that atta' boy for a rainy day!

herr_oberst 04-24-2012 07:03 PM

The system worked. Cooler heads prevailed and a dangerous obstruction was moved (this is on my morning commute, and this was my pleasant surprise today.)
