Matt Johnston out of Grand Rapids has been doing some phenomenal video work via RC Heli:

This young man may grow up to be a drone pilot.

How does that helo in the vid hover with the nose straight up?

I can't watch the vids on the this connection, but is the helocopter going in a small arc back and forth - he's going from full negative, to full positive, and repeating on the collective.

My son has had several Syma helicopters. They're a whopping $35 or so on Ebay, lots of fun, and surprisingly rugged.

I had to watch it again, but yes I think thats what he's doing. Interesting.

I've got a little $40 Air Hog with a camera. Unbelievably resilient - it's been crashed a hundred times and keeps going. 2-channel only, so you can't hover. But there is no better tool made to torment the dogs

^^^That was the chopper we wanted to sell when I worked at The Shack... Instead we ended up with the more top of the line Air Hog that year.... Which is a great little 3 channel bird. I got damn good at demo flights around the store, and sold a ton of them. Had so much fun, that I had to buy one of my own.....

The cheap electric "toy" rc choppers are dead simple to fly. My 5 year old nephew could keep mine in the air. The real RC choppers however are not easy to learn to fly.
