Like you , I never have time for churchill or larger, but I hate pequenos (the small ones from tins). I find they burn too hot and that their flavor is not indicative of a brand's standard parejos. I stick with corona sized generally, and occasionally a lonsdale. (there are exceptions to every rule, tho)

Yes, they do burn hotter. The REALLY small ones (Macanudo, Uvezian, Romeo Y Julieta) are very hot. But the Cohibas and the Upmanns are really pretty decent IMO.

I'll try buying the Corona size next time. It's harder to find cigars that I like in that size, but I think I saw some CAO and Fuente coronas at the store.

I also like going to the cigar store. For me, a friendly (not snotty) cigar store is a great little escape from the stressful crap that I put myself through.

I wish I could find a good store.
My two local stores both have drawbacks.

In store #1, the clerk follows your every move in his walk-in-closet sized humi room to make sure you don't steal a cigar. He stays close enough that you feel you should exchange phone numbers with him.

In store #2, the clerk lets you have unfettered access to the huge humi room but he knows absolutely nothing about cigars - except what sells, and the price.
