OK you video/computer/music gurus...how do I overlay captions, music, etc

On a video I've recorded with a digital camera? Keep in mind I'm a total illiterate when it comes to this kinda stuff. Doing a commercial parody to post on a friends bar FB page.

Thanks

You are going to need some software... we use macromedia (Adobe) director.

Unless you are on a Apple... iMovie? Dunno, I'm not an applehead.

I'm a tech but not a software guy so that is about all the help I can be.

There are a bunch of guys here that know more about this stuff... hope they chime in.

My solutions are all on the high end both knowledge wise and price point.

For consumers it's Mac+iMovie.

For Windows there a too many options, some good, a lot really bad, for me to bother keeping up with.

If it's a one time thing you can always download Premier from Adobe, fully functional 30 day no nag trial.

But again may be a bit daunting if you're not versed in it.

You could try this: Edit Studio, video editor

We use the DVD authoring software from them and it does quite a bit for the money and have been meaning to try the video editing software.

I think Windows comes with a limited one called Movie Maker. Never finished making a movie with it, riding a bicycle with a severe case of hemorrhoids is about as fun.

Final Cut Pro? Video Studio from Ulead is pretty easy to work with on the PC.

You didn't mention which platform you are working on.
