Too bad. DDRS seems to be a cost effective awesome design, assuming the tub was originally designed for it like McLaren. The ruling might not be dead just yet.

Love it or hate it, it was an interesting idea. Just seems like anything innovative and interesting in F1 gets shot down so quickly. Would love to give these guys more space to innovate and come up with interesting designs. Obviously, there is a cost to everything, but set a cost cap and let them go nuts with the design.

Sure, there's a cost to everything, but come on, the minute anyone lets on they have a new widget, all the teams are out working overtime trying to keep up.

I agree, give 'em some breathing room - let them innovate.

Cost caps would be very difficult to enforce, but short of making many components standard across teams cost control measures are pretty useless in F1 anyway. Restrict innovation and the teams will just spend tens of millions (or hundreds for the front runners) trying to find hundredths of a second, working within the rules.

I'm fine with that, get rid of DRS, KERS and any form of traction control, put the race more in the hands of the drivers not the Engineers, but we know tgat won't happen...

As well as bring back refueling and make the drivers actually move a gear shift lever.
