Interesting Turbocharged 917 Laser well sorted

Here I am again.
Latest member to my zoo.917 Laser powered by 2L turbo charged vw engine, still fresh with no miles on it.
Garrett turbo,2 dual barrel webers, heavy duty trans, kyb shocks, special subframe really ties the car up ,new brakes, new axles.wiring, fuel cell, new seats,5 point harness,Mickey Thompson tires 0 miles on them, black powdercoated turbine 5 lug wheels.Body is perfect with great paint.
Loud ,fast, splits flames, aircooled and is street legal ;-)
Car is ready to go as is however the gauges still need to be hooked up.
Heres a picture,more to follow.

I know is nothing close to the real deal, but a fun and scary machine. At 200+ hp and a superlight body guaranteed recipe for massive amounts of fun.

ehhhhhhh....

You won't find many (if any) here that like a Lazer.
I thought it was a cool idea, but I always hated the ass end.

"Car is ready to go as is however the gauges still need to be hooked up."
...so that is well sorted?

Porsche-O-Phile 04-30-2012 01:23 PM

It's no 917 but I bet it's bags of fun...

It's not all that bad really. There have been FAR worse cars posted here and elsewhere.

Did you buy that or assemble that yourself ?-No matter-I think it's great. To see something drive by inwhich you most likely never will again and remember is fantastic.

More pics. please.

I'd love to assemble a kit-car with my Son. That is a dream.

I had a girlfriend that had a Sterling-fun as heck.

You would do better to sell it turn key vs selling as a project. The Ad would come off better without the comment I responded to.

It's a kit and pretty cool as it draws from the 917. Add more pics too.

Tamas Opra 04-30-2012 05:30 PM

Its built on vw pan with custom subframe, its reg as a 65 so super cheap insurance.

Ps:its a kit car so try not to compare it to a real 917,and off topic thread so dont be a d@%k :D

I bet it's a hoot to drive.

Youre absolutly right.I just got the car today and I will finish it up,either wire the existing gauges or make a custom dash with procomp gauges like I did on one of my other cars.I buy them as a project but only sell them as turn key.
