Russ did a great job with that car. Very nice to have, in a non-smog state, those Webers are cool and that car seems to have lots of power and must sound awesome. Wheels and the lowering look great, too.

I'd drive the heck out of that!

I'm can't figure out how I knew this, but I knew you'd chime in and that you'd know who Russ is. How weird is that? Is there an F-chat connection?

That Mondial needs a few slutty BLA tweaks bro.
I can't even figure out how the Becker stereo works in this thing. It makes no sense. I can start there. :D

With the Ferrari Sound, you really don't need the radio, do you?

Nope. A friend of mine is in town recording the Chicago Symphony Orchestra score for the new Spielberg film, and we took the car for a run on Lake Shore Drive last night. Man, the insane tone this car has when you push the engine to redline. It's something to experience!

Thanks for the good wishes guys. I imagine I'll be selling my little SC for now although I plan to return to the fold as soon as possible. I may dump my Audi S8 and pick up an AWD 964 or 996. Or I may just wait a bit and buy a well sorted SC with a 3.6 transplant. I think my wife's biggest objection is the cost of owning so many cars in the city. I have limited space, so I have to rent a couple garage spaces to store them.

$15k isn't a bad price provided the service history is there. I'm surprised no one could be found to change belts. It's really not that hard of a job.
t.

Well, at the time, he had just retired, and didn't want to spend the time & money to take it to Orlando and he just kind of lost interest in it.

It's pretty good; I'll certainly be keeping the car . I really miss my 911 though.

Very nice Mondial..

ramonesfreak 07-11-2012 04:34 AM

Beautiful. If I could find an affordable mint gt4 I would be all over it

The guy from Jamiroquai was selling his, I think. Most well sorted GT4 I've ever seen...

McLovin 07-11-2012 03:13 PM

Here you go, pretty nice, and all things considered relatively affordable.

1975 Ferrari 308 GT/4

I like the idea of having a GT4 as a daily driver. They are pretty simple cars and it could easily be done, and if DIY'd even fairly affordably.

But they are one of those cars that to me look better in pictures than they do in person. When I start to think about them, and then actually see one, I cool down.

ramonesfreak 07-11-2012 03:19 PM

thats nice. dont like the 2-tone paint or cloth seats and the price has gone up on these in the past 5 years. thats out of my range and i dont have a spare garage right now.

i love them in person, having seen a few. they rust like crazy though. someday i will get one. im a sucker for 2+2 sports cars

here's my 911 parked next to one

NICE Mnewport!

REAL nice!

I agree with Motion...I love all the recent Prancing Horse chatter....

Porsche is my first love but sometimes I wonder if a little Italian on the side would spice up my love life! :p

How's the foot space for gas, brake, clutch?

It's weird, but you get used to it.

I drove 4 Ferraris last October 400A 2+2, Convertible Daytona 365 GTS, 308, and a 360 coupe. By far, the highlight was the classic Daytona, it was a dreamlike. The 308 was like diving a boyhood fantasy, which they say you should never do. I was completely miffed by my inability to shift and give it gas without accidentally grabbing the brake at the same time, it even made the huge effort to depress the clutch seem trivial. Still, I was thrilled to drive the 308 and would not hesitate at another chance.

IMO, you really need to get some driving shoes for a Ferrari.

Yes but any thin soled shoe will do the trick. I wear these linen slip-on things that look like a cross between Chinese slippers and prison shoes. It's totally disrespectful and I don't care.

And the 400 is another one of my favorites.

Wondering how the Mondial is going 12 months on?

livi 10-21-2013 02:02 AM

Good for you! Very nice looking.
