There was a company in Arizona making something similar for a while. The cost of the hardware was around $25k IIRC. There were som youtubes floating around a few years ago with a street race and rally race sim on it.

The videos of the one in AZ they crashed at the end and you absolutely need a 5 point harness and should wear a helmet. It was pretty violent.
