How many Miniature Dachshunds to down an angry Pit?

Assuming:

1. Each mini weighs in around 7 lbs. each with a massive 4" reach.
2. The Pit Bull can't run for his life, as most animals do when confronted by an angry Dachshund. Say the whole mess is corralled.
3. The PB is actively trying to stay alive.

For the curious . . . yes, I have been dwelling on this for quite a while. Yes I have. My wife seems to think that the answer is near eight, but she was having to talk to me on the sly as she's conducting a company-wide audit; her reply may have simply been an effort to get rid of me and the true answer may be something far different.

My guess is ten. I figure the big dog would be able to fend off a few of the little guys but, while he's busy, the others would be working on his achilles.

Note that in NO WAY do I support dog fighting except in the name of science.

Neilk 05-03-2012 10:09 AM

Interesting...depends on how focused the PB is on taking care of each Dachs or gets fixated on tearing apart a single one. 10 is probably a good guess.

Speaking of hypothetical dog issues, what would happen if you mix a Male Yorki and a female English Mastiff? Would that mix even make it?

masraum 05-03-2012 05:11 PM

My mini is 12# which I'm guessing would skew your results.

rusnak 05-03-2012 05:22 PM

Since a Dachsund's bite power is about equivalent to a child's stapler, and it takes about a dozen staples to close a Fed Ex Pak, and a mini Dachsund's size to weight ratio vs. a standard Dachsund is about 1.4:1, I'd say precisely eleventy billion.

turboteener 05-03-2012 05:24 PM

The pit bull can NVAR LOSE!!!!!!!!! Unpossible.

Rusty Heap 05-03-2012 05:43 PM

Scott are you rubbing peanut butter on your privates again?

'nuff said and I'm curious as to what your intentions were in this post.?

calling you out.

so, what was your bare truth point.?

billybek 05-03-2012 05:53 PM

When the PB is full it will lie down.
I'm thinking 2-3 depending on the wieners weight!;)

stealthn 05-03-2012 06:01 PM

Ask Michael Vick...

FLYGEEZER 05-03-2012 06:50 PM

Did see three Jack Russells close out a pit bull once.

I own a pit mix. (boxer/pitbull) Best dog I have EVER had! Not aggressive. Very smart. Very loyal. Loving. Protective. Yes!
WHATS YOUR POINT?

Rusty Heap 05-03-2012 07:27 PM

My llama spits at your ignorance Scott.

pics to follow.

May gerbils and hampsters infect your underpants.

I really hate to break this to you guys, but sometimes- despite what your teachers may have told you- there is absolutely no point. Sorry. You have wasted untold seconds of your lives simply by visiting this thread and questioning its merits.

Now go forth and sin no more.

Have another beer dude! Pfffft

RWebb 05-03-2012 08:03 PM

How many Miniature Dachshunds does it take to put a Cayman engine in an old 911 unit body?

rusnak 05-03-2012 08:07 PM

If all the poodles in the Caymans took up knitting, would they send an ugly Christmas sweater to the pitbull?

Joe Bob 05-03-2012 08:47 PM

I take it you've never seen 5 or more Dachshunds that have a pack mentality....freakin' scary. I had a partner that let loose a bunch of them in place of lazy ass Rotties....he never got robbed, cheaper to feed and the turds were easier to pick up...

porsche4life 05-03-2012 08:54 PM

My money is on a gaggle of Jack Russels.... Longer legs, more aggressive.

Bill Douglas 05-03-2012 09:19 PM

I've got a rotweiler in my handbag and I'm not afraid to use it.

Anyways, where I come from we are so tough we send the budgie out to chase the postman.

Porsche-O-Phile 05-04-2012 01:58 AM

48/2(9+3) that's how many...

DanielDudley 05-04-2012 02:01 AM

Let's see. The indisputable origins of the Pit Bull is that they were specifically bred for pit fighting. Current owners are not culpable...

Why would anyone be so insensitive as to make suche base speculations about such a dog ?

BTW, the little wiener dogs were bred to hunt rats and other aggressive vermin, so they are not entirely without mad skillz...

What a beautiful animal Rick. Of course some azzhole would shot it.

Rusty Heap 05-04-2012 07:34 AM

Chuck Norris owns 3 pit bulls and 2 dobermans, yet if you go near his property the only sign you see is "Beware of Chuck Norris".

I think three dachshunds could take down a Pit, provided all three stay alive

They were telling the story of a couple Argentinian kids out wandering on the farm and they started climbing a tree. OInliest problem was, there was a puma already in the tree. 180 lubs of him.

The little kids ran screaming with a mountain lion close behind. The family dog passed them and attacked the lion. I had never heard of the dogo argentino breed before, looked like a big pit bull to me.
The dad came out with his gun and went running to see what the commotion was. he found the dog lying there, half dead. Next to it was a puma, full dead.

Why is the pit bull angry?

cashflyer 05-04-2012 02:11 PM

Are they African Dachshunds, or European Dachshunds?
