minty fresh OS
Been a LONG time Linux user, change distros every so often... about 2 years ago went from Ubuntu to pure Debian. Been running Debian wheezy (testing) with some stuff from sid (unstable). Gnome3/Unity made me mad, switched to KDE, but lately KDE has been making me mad too... file associations changing randomly, sound mixer issues, etc. So I tried the latest Linux Mint on a LiveCD for a hour or so, liked it, and have done a real install. About 40 minutes start to finish, including resizing partitions, re-settings up software RAID for my /home partition, etc.
Initial verdict - Very Nice.

ID10T,
My son had nice things to say about Mint when he reviewed it for Distrowatch. When he changes his OS, I know he has found something he likes. Last week, he went to the new release of Kubuntu after reviewing it. He said there were flaws and that it needed some fixes, but he likes the way it handled things. Best Les
