wow.....that was the last nail in the coffin.

They should have called you earlier in the day when they likely knew they wouldn't have time for the procedure and apologized for the inconvenience. Even then they better have a damn good excuse.

Try and find a recommendation for a new vet.

No way I would have left after that comment. I would have demanded to see the vet and would have suggested that the staff be locked in a box for 9 hours with no food or water. That person should have been fired on the spot.
