Panamera - I don't hate it

I brought this home the other day, just seemed like a nice family car for us. I wanted to move my CTT up to my mountain house and use the Panamera in the summer in the city. I'll switch them around in the winter, bring the CTT down to the city and store the Panamera at the mountain house.

It's a Panamera 4, I'm still getting used to the "auto start/stop" system and the massively complex PCM system, but so far as an around the town car that I can put my son's car seat in it's fine.

Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but here in the city it's quite nice.

Nice! ..love the color combo too.

How does it compare to the pepperwagon?

Don't hate it-- you bought one! I think that most people here have a problem with:

(a) the look of the rear end;
(b) the heavy weight; and
(c) the fact that Porsche does not only make sports cars anymore.

I don't have any issue with the Panamera except for the fact that it is styled as if it a rear engined car but the engine is in the front. I also find that Panamera owners I have encountered are not "drivers" or enthusiasts and would not recognize a 914, a 928 or a 964 as Porsches and think that Porsche was born with the Boxster.

Nice garage and congrats on the new purchase!

What is a CTT? Please be a Carrera Twin Turbo-- please!

The Pepper is a lot more powerful, the Panamera (at least mine) is more of a "cruiser" compared to the CTT that just wants to throw you back into the seat when you stomp on it.

Sorry, no. Cayenne Twin Turbo, Cayenne Turbo. And I have to agree with what you said about Pana, it's not a traditional Porsche at all, it is truly a city car.

Congrats Scott

Thanks Eric, it seems like they are practically giving these 2012's away for some reason. The deal was almost to good to pass up. Are they really just that unpopular that they sit for a while on the lot?

Nice.

Was not a fan at first but did not hate them either.

Have seen a few in my area that I like a lot.

They seem to benefit from aftermarket add ons, nice set of wheels, debadge, tint etc...

Congrats. My partner just picked up a GTS last week.

Double check, but I think it can be turned off.

Yes it's a switch on the center console marked "A" but I'm trying to get used to it, however it's not going well.

It really reminds me of a golf cart, the kind that you push the pedal and the engine starts. The problem is when you're stopped and the engine shuts off, the car kind of "shudders" when it turns off. This is fine the first few times, but gets annoying after a bit.

I don't hate them either, in fact, I kind of like them. I can see buying one for a family car when a) we don't need a minivan anymore and b) the prices come down to earth. Fortunately, both of those events will likely occur around the same time! :)

Nice. I still don't love the looks, but there's no denying they are about as good as gets in terms of driving experience when it comes to big sedans.

My wife wants one. I would not mind if she got one. I got a ride in the back seat of Turbo with 3 other guys in the car. I thought there was no way a car that damn big could launch that fast. It was like a ride Magic Mountain.

I thought they would drop in resale value quicker than they have. I saw one in auto trader for $68,500.

It was a 6 cyc though.

love it
