My terrorist wall solved our biggest noise issue . . . but the war still continues . . .

Some people are just really mean to their kids. My neighbors don't curse, but are always yelling at their 7 year old girl. It's like they think she is deaf. At a work picnic, this dumb skank in my office whacked her 2 year old on the ass and yelled at her. Why? Because she had the audacity to walk up to tub full of beer and pick up an ice cube to put it in her mouth. C'mon, that's what kids do. Plus she's probably teething. Skank mom is yelling "I said No Ice!". We were all like wtf?

I have two girls. they frustrate the hell out of me, and I've popped the older on the ass maybe twice in her life. (not hard, really just to get her attention and let her know I was serious. It worked like a charm.). But I don;t yell at them, and I certainly don't curse at them. It makes me sad to see kids treated that way.

I guess that's why I don't like neighbors. I'm on a main street, across from me is a cop which I've never met just waved at, house on my left is on a lower grade so I hardly see them, to my right house is facing the other way on a cul-de-sac, at the back that house faces east on the same cul-de-sac... so they don't hear me yelling at my kids... lol

my neighbors are from somewhere that inside voice = outside voice = yelling.

happiness? yell. anger? yell. saying goodbye? yell. i have gotten used to it. i cannot tell if they are fighting are simply talking about the weather. effen loud.

i dont even stop my dog from barking at them anymore. payback.

they party into the night and when the guest leave everyone gets out on the lawn and yell goodbye to the departing car. it is awesome.

We have a couple of annoying bull frogs in the pond. They can make quite a racket at the end of the evening. Also, the English sparrows have chased away my bluebirds whom I miss. Damn those sparrows!

Sorry I can't be more helpful my closest neighbors are a quarter mile away, you might consider some ear buds until you move.

Hmmm. I wonder what my neighbors say about me?

Sounds like the problems here are the dumb A$$ parents/adults yelling and stuff.

Have a friend like that.

If they were all in the same room and wanted to talk they'd scream at each other like they were on opposite ends of the house.

They had various sized pictures hung in really randomly bizarre places around the house, like inches away from a door frame, a foot off the floor.

One day I peeked behind one and sure enough there was a fist sized hole in the wall.

Pretty much ditto. ;)

Mikeesik, that is a sad story indeed.

I have two daughters, and all our neighbours have kids. They all play together, and the interaction between them is priceless. This is what makes a community, and dads are part of it, especially good dads like you seem to be.

I would not give up on this situation. Make it your challenge to show this guy your friendly, good and reasonable intentions. I'm tired of us being seen as the bad guys all the time; it's lame and wrong.
