roth ira investment help pls
 

So unknown to me, my mom started a roth ira for me a few years ago, and its got ~ 10k cash sitting in it.

I need to call the ML folks and tell 'em what I'd like done with it. I'm 41, and am vested in the "good" part of the state retirement system, have 15 years in and plan on staying in for the rest of the ride...

Suggestions?

How does your mother start a Roth IRA for you? I thought the contributions to Roth or any IRAs had to come from earned income or converted from a traditional IRA.

I think if you have money in your pocket, you can throw it into a Roth IRA. Unless you make over a certain amount a year. SEP IRA for the self employ .

Continue to fund it.
