VW parts sources...too bad Pelican don't sell them!
 

Oh I have become spoiled dealing with Pelican for Porsche parts....!!!

I need to order a disc brake kit for a 71 superbeetle and have been waiting for 6 days for socalautoparts to ship...so I started a paypal dispute and now have to find these parts again...:mad:

Can you guys recommend a aftermarket VW shop that comes close to the level of service provided by Pelican?

I use these guys for most of my parts.

ECS tuning is good for newer VAG stuff, no idea if they support the classic Beetle.

I use WW a lot, and love them. Their online catalog is a model of how this stuff should work.

There are a lot of little podunk, fly-by-night VW parts outfits that seem to have sprung from nowhere, selling schiddty Chinese-made crap.

By far the worst experience I had was with BFY; I ordered some 36hp engine bearings, and after a month or so on not receiving said bearings, I inquired as what was going on. Paraphrasing: "yeah, we got your order. we don't actually have the bearings, but if we get a set, we'll send them to you."

Another vote for Wolfsburg West for air-cooled parts. Reliable, ship immediately, and they stand behind their products.
