Video software problems.

My internal DVD player died, so I bought an LG external player.

I have been using VLC as software. Worked for a month. Now it crashes, reloaded the prgram and does the same.

Any ideas? LG is no help, VLC is in France, they surrender.....I've looed at othe software but they all are junk....

Worked for a month after you started using the external LG player?

Would indicate a recent SW update broke something.

Could be from a related or unrelated SW update.

One of the reasons I leave auto update off by default.

I want to know when things have changed.

Several things to try and other questions:

- What are the movie formats: I.E. MKV, M2TS or what?

- Does the player do this on another computer?

- Does VLC play video that is on the hard drive such as one that was saved locally?

- What is the data transfer speed between the LG player and the PC?

- What video card do you have and how much memory is on the card, as some have special settings for video?

- Do the DVDs play on another player?

Since you said DVD I am guessing these are not Blu-Ray as their format on disk is different and while VLC will play their M2TS video files, I found I had to extract them first as it would hang. I bought the pro version of ISO Buster that lets you pull the M2TS Blu-Ray and then that easily plays in VLC and also through a share drive to my Samsung Blu-Ray player.

My dim brain fixed it.....had to do some strange things....but I can now look at gay midget rebublican Mit Romney porn on DVD. thank you for the input

Fixed it.....issue compatabilty and downloaded a patch.....
