Shuie 05-15-2012 03:33 PM

That looks pretty decent. The paint looks good, dusty but good. The door damage is not a big deal.

Embraer 05-15-2012 03:49 PM

that actually isnt damage on the door...it's a reflection and a wipe in the dust

id10t 05-15-2012 04:12 PM

Not a C/SC ('64/65) with those hubcaps, unless they were replaced. T-6 though, with the front quarter windows and dual grill back end. So a T-6 B coupe

Zeke 05-15-2012 04:20 PM

I'd say B for sure. The window line should tell you that. The black plate looks good. Original CA car.

Embraer 05-15-2012 05:12 PM

just walked back over (he just lives around the corner from me). two cars parked out front, i rang the doorbell and knocked...no answer. oh well

ossiblue 05-15-2012 05:41 PM

IF the plates are original to the car, the letters would put it at late 62 or early 63. There used to be a "system" in the assigning of letter/numbers in the early 60's where you could ballpark the month, year and even region in which the car was registered, but that went by the wayside.

My first car was a 63, registered in January in So. Cal., and the letters were "HBL."

Walk back over and look through the holes in the wheels to see if it has disk brakes. If yes, it's either a C or a B w/ converted brakes. If drums, it's a T6 B. Baby moon hubcaps and split grill decklid should indicate a B T6, like id10t says. Cool car either way.

It could really use a pair of Aloha surf racks......you know - the original ones that still pop up on eBay periodically? :)

john70t 05-15-2012 05:57 PM

(needs one of those e-brake cables. i'd pass on that one.)

Cool Nurburgring grille badge!

Are you absolutely 100% sure?! Boy, that looks like damage to me

Embraer 05-15-2012 06:42 PM

absolutely sure. since they didnt answer the door, i gave the car a quick once over. bottom is solid. original seats have been replaced with racing units. no hood spear. all bumpers shaved.

and yes, the nurburgring badge is pretty sweet.

Joe Bob 05-15-2012 06:43 PM

JJF 317 was a 63.....likely earlier. Could be a B, or and A......knock on MY door, bring friends....

id10t 05-15-2012 07:18 PM

Joe Bob - you can see the front quarter window and the rear - I don't think A's or T5 B's had 'em. Together with teh baby moons and the dual grill deck lid is what makes me say T-6 B coupe
