Some lucky 8 year old having way too much fun!

I didn't even have a mini bike when I was 8!

That's pretty incredible

Jim Bremner 05-16-2012 07:54 AM

Unreal!

I hope that he makes it to pro!

WolfeMacleod 05-16-2012 08:22 AM

By the time he's old enough to get a license, driving should be about as natural to him as walking. Or breathing.

slakjaw 05-16-2012 08:32 AM

Where is he? Can't be the US. All kids here do is play video games.

Yeah, but the price is a lot higher, and it takes longer to download.

I was almost certain it was going to be this guy:

Been here before but at 8 or 80 that would be the greatest thrill for me. I could do that all day long every day and never get tired of it.
I'm sure we will see his name in WRC someday.

Same here.

Driving the car would be fun, too.

Jim Richards 05-16-2012 09:21 AM

Wow! Lucky kid.

slow&rusty 05-16-2012 09:28 AM

So how many of you know what car that lucky kid is driving?

Jim Richards 05-16-2012 09:30 AM

Does it even matter? :D

Laneco 05-16-2012 10:51 AM

I can't get a great pic of that car (moving too fast - LOL!) - but I think it's a little Toyota.

I'm probably dead wrong on that, but it really looks like some little Japanese hatchback.

That is the son of Harri Rovanpera, a Ex wrc driver from finland

tharbert 05-16-2012 11:28 AM

Toyota Starlet

I cheated a little. I happend to catch a glimpse of a url on the door. The page has a link to their racing team with pictures of their cars. That particular car appears on page 8.

Looks like I need to step up my game w/my kids. All my 5 yr. old could do a few winters ago was donuts!

tried to embed, but it looks like it didn't work. . .

My 22 month old has driven:

Mack tandem gravel truck,
2011 Toyota Tundra,
Lexus LX450
1977 Porsche GT2 race car
Vageen Chump Car 911
Case 2670 4 wheel drive tractor
Old John Deere tractor

He sits on my lap, I run the pedals and shift, he steers. He loves it.

He has been around a few tracks, watched me race at Laguna Seca, and has this in his blood.

Worked fine, I see it as embedded. Looks like he was having fun. Frankly, I'm a bit jealous.

We do have rally here in the states and a pretty active community in So Cal. There is nothing like blasting down closed dirt roads as fast as possible and using the whole road and guessing the right traction. I, of course, was 42 years old before I had my first rally car :) That kid is going to rock.
