Who Clicks On Facebook Adds......?
My daughter has tons of friends on Facebook and everyone we know claims to never have clicked on an add on FB. On the news Google gets 1/250 users to click on adds, FB is 1/2000 users click on an add. How is FB worth 100 B ? Is it possible that some random bored kid surfs 1000 adds a day? Have you or anyone you know ever clicked on a FB add? Remember Mark Cuban and Broadcast.com?

On average in my industry if we get 1% click thru we are doing OK. 2-3% is a home run.
Did a program for Xbox Live Arcade last year that hit ~8%. Highest click thru they've ever had. XBLA is a captive highly targeted audience so ~%5 is pretty good. 1/250 for google sounds low. My click thru's with them are better. More like .8-.9% They are cheap and I offset it with affiliate $'s so I make a couple of pennies from it. google works because people use it to search for stuff so the ads are relevant/targeted. FB is used for entertainment. If you are watching Home Shopping Network you are predisposed to buy. If you are watching Mythbusters do you really pay attention to the commercials? |
Junk and attracts spam. I'm there to see what my kids are up to.
Dumped all my brothers redheaed batschitcrazy kids......ready to put it all in the crapper......hope the IPO takes a dump. |
You mean intentionally?
I admit when I used to have a FB account I once clicked on an ad. Watched a couple Voltron cartoons from my childhood. Man those were pretty crappy animation. |
No! Never will.

I haven't seen an ad in years....unless I accidentally use IE.
That said, i haven't logged onto facebook since the days of the 997.... Even then, i refuse to acknowledge ads in any way. I get their purpose, but I won't ever assist in strengthening advertising. On the iphone, if your ad interferes in the usage of the app, you will NEVER see my your product...even if it's something i need. I will buy from a competitor. The fact is that 60% of the public sees Facebook as a fad. Soon a newer platform, with more freedom and a less corporate image will take over. (See mySpace). I think Facebook will be around for some time, but it does have an expiration date. Our generation loved it because of the way it allowed us to reconnect. The current generation is used to it. It's a norm. The future generation will see this as a "feature", not an entire package. I think Facebook, now that it is public, is in for a long slide down. It may take a while, but that's what i see. The only way they can change that is to become the future platform. just my .02 |
the only thing generating the 1% click through rate is smart phones and guys like me with big clumsy fingers.

I do not. I highly doubt fb is worth 100b

I wish there was a way to show accidental....then again the sellers wouldn't want that. It would simply devalue their ad sales and rates.... |
I'll say it again: anyone surfs without FireFox and AdBlock Plus is either uninformed, stubborn, or just plain dumb.
