Which mirror would you pick?
I have an employee that gave me a pair of NOS M3 mirrors last week. On a whim, I decided to test fit one onto my Ferrari. I was surprised, but I kind of prefer it over my stock mirrors. It reminds me a little of the Testarossa mirror without being too over the top. Everyone who has seen it in person picks the M3 mirror.
The Ferrari crowd however, seems to really dislike it, and the feedback I've gotten from them has overwhelmingly against it. I probably won't actually switch to the M3 style, but I thought I'd see what you guys think about it. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1337455833.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1337455639.jpg |
The M3 mirror will create less drag... ;)

The one on the passenger side gets my vote, which is the M3 mirror.
Cheers Richard |
Another vote for the one on the passenger side.

I tend to like things staying original, but in this case I'd say the M3 mirror looks better.

M3, definitely.

It dosen't matter what we or the Ferrari crowd think. It's your car do what you want to it.
I like the M3 one tho :) |
I understand how the Ferrari crowd would want it to be correct, but the E36 M3 mirror looks more "Ferrari" - the OE mirror looks like it was heisted from a Chrysler LeBaron.

personally i prefer the chunky OEM mirror. i find the the M3 mirror too prissy.
edit, not sure prissy was the right word. maybe trying too hard to look cool. i prefer plain/understated... |
the passenger side one looks better.

Interesting to see the replies here are the mirror opposite (seriously, no pun is intended) of the replies I got on the Ferrari board.
Seems like two diametrically opposed worlds. I gotta keep the P-car faith in the F-car world. |
Keep them the way they are and just enjoy people doing doubletakes and asking questions.
Get creative with your answers... "This square one is supposed to help me turn left in a more stable fashion... much like traction control." "I don't know why they're different. I was told this car was assembled in Mexico." |
