stuck screws & studs

So... somehow the action bolts on a rifle got too tight... when unscrewed, the studs they screw into got unscrewed from the action.

Was suggested on a spoon forum to put nail polish on the threads, get 'em back into the action, and then trying to unscrew.

No joy.

Do I go for locktite instead? What color?

Or do I say screw it, order new studs and screws, and dremel the old ones so I can get the magazine plate and trigger guard off?
