It looks like a hanger for your water bottle.

You hang your trash bag from it.

That there is your beer bottle opener pal.

My wife tells me it's also handy for holding her purse in a very accessible manor, both while driving AND as the passenger. Keeps it from flopping all around.

Too funny guys.. I did try to open a bottle and that didn't work out. It doesn't hold up a bag or purse that great, well i guess it depends on the thickness of the handles. Its from an '04 Excursion so the aluminum water bottles were not in style back then..

I'm thinking about removing the panel and making something else out of that section.

I owned the truck and never figured it out.

bag holder. The back of my 3 row seat on my mini van has a row of them so the plastic grocery bags don't slide all over in the back. Took me a while to figure that out too.

Actually listed as an option on the dodge caravan as "rear grocery bag hooks "

on a serious note, that makes no sense to me. bag hanger? what's with the two holes beneath the hook? and why does it need to be a detachable panel?
